I stayed at this B&B on a 5-day trip to Galway, and was pleasantly surprised. The neighbourhood is quiet and is only around ten minutes walk away from the shops (Eyre Square) and all the pubs. There is even a greyhound track 2 minutes in the other direction.

The proprietors themselves are kindly people, who went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure their guests had a good time. As has been said in the other reviews of this B&B, it is this aspect, the service, that sets the place apart. Nothing seems to be too much trouble. Plenty of friendly advice is given if needed, and lots of information about what to do in Galway is available. I have only experienced this kind of service in the past in 5* hotels.

The prices were pretty reasonable for what you get. The rooms are functional, but that's what I paid for. There is Sky TV and a shower / toilet; I stayed in a single room - the doubles may be different.

The breakfasts themselves are very good. I never partook of the Irish breakfast / smoked salmon myself, but I can certify that the breakfasts certainly fill you up. The fruit salads are good, and the supply of bread is overflowing. This is a great thing for me. There are also omelettes, newspapers and whatever else you need.

In summary: if you're thinking of staying in Galway, go to this place. You won't regret it.

Eddie and Helen are very sweet, the location is absolutely perfect and the neighborhood is walking distance to anything you could need. We walked the neighborhood from the minute we got there and we didn't have one single problem navigating or finding just about anything our little touristy girl hearts desired. Eyre Square is about a ten minute walk, shops all around, yet the neighborhood is quiet enough to have a sleep in. My friend and I are planning to go back to Galway for a week and we're going to stay at the Four Seasons.

I stayed in this B&B twice. First time was back in 2002 with 2 friends and it was excellent. The rooms clean and comfy and the owners could not have been more friendly or helpfull.

I returned there in Sept 2004 and was greeted in exactly the same way. Still exceptional and the breakfasts were lovely. We stayed in the Annex and I have to say that we really liked it. It was nice and private and was kept very clean.

Will definately be going back at some stage this year

The excellent B&B I was staying at previously was already booked by the time I returned to Galway, and mercifully found a room here.

The owner (I believe his name is Eddie) did a superb job ensuring that I'd be OK getting to the Shannon airport the next day (reparked cars, etc.). My last day in Ireland started off with a delicious smoked salmon and scrambled egg breakfast--a great way to end my visit to a wonderful country.

The accommodations were clean, well-furnished and a good value. While I'm sure someone could stay at a chain hotel (i.e., Jury's) for the same price or more, I'm happy to support place like the Four Seasons: locally owned and personally concerned.

  • Liked — Excellent service, great breakfast.
  • Disliked — I have no concerns.

I stayed at the 4 Season's for 2 nights in September. Eddy, the host, is very helpful and makes you feel welcome right away. This is not an impersonal B&B, it is family run and it shows.

The full Irish breakfast was one of the best during my 3-week stay. Eddy took time out to chat with the guests every morning and was helpful with the planning our stay & with directions.

Our twin room was OK, clean and functional. Certainly not a luxiourious room, but had all that we needed.

The B&B is located on College Road, which seems to be B&B central in Galway. It is close to the tourist center, no need to use your car once settled in the B&B. There is reserved parking for guests, which avoids more hassle.

The Four Season's is a recommended B&B in the Rick Steves' travel guide, so book in advanced if interested, and expect most of your fellow guests to be American.
