After several misguided trips by my good ole AAA agent I took booking my irish getaway into my own hands. I went to Ireland to visit my son, who was finishing up his semester there. He did a survey of area hotels and suggested the Western. I trusted his judgement and booked the hotel. The location is beyond convenient, I had to drag my luggage up a quick hill from the train station. The hotel was quiet. It's a beautiful antigue building with modern charm. The hotel breakfast felt more like a tea party than a typical day at dunkin donuts. The staff was very friendly, they asked wht my room preferences were and found the room that best suited my interests (non-smoking, low floor, quiet, and a viewing of the charming irish city street). I left the hotel a few months ago, and it was just recently when I was touring colleges with my daughter that I realized how special the Western is: from staying at hotels that charged massive fees for rooms, plus charging extra for parking, internet, breakfast, all for a slightly more luxurious stay...
I really had a marvellous time at the western and I am really believe that even with the dollar to euro conversion, I got a great deal!
