“Good B&Band friendly hosts”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 10, 2013

We stayed here for 2 nights and loved the fact that we could walk in to town. Mary and Ron were superb hosts, very friendly and accommodating. My husband has trouble with stairs, so Mary allowed us to have a room at the back of the house. It was smaller than the other rooms but we were happy to be on the ground floor. Mary cooks breakfast to order, although the advertised continental buffet was very light on. Our increasing waistlines told us that we didn't need it anyway. When we left, we were farewelled like old friends. Really nice.

The owners, Mary and her husband were so very friendly and very helpful. We stayed here on Easter weekend in March. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful. After driving for 2 hrs from Dublin airport early that morning we arrived 3.5 hrs early. They were very nice and let us eat breakfast as we were tired from traveling. They were helpful with telling us where to go for the best pubs and live music and where to eat dinner. Our room was a little small but not cramped. Nice bathroom. We highly recommend this bed & breakfast. Also it is only a 5 min walk to the town center.

I've stayed for 3 nights on February'13.
Great location, in walking distance to the city's main attractions and to the coach stations.
The price and the room were great! Good bed, good bathroom, good shower, very clean.
Mary and Ron were so nice and friendly! They gave me good tips of restaurants and pubs.
Mary's Irish breakfast was delicious and well served. I left early in the morning and Mary was very kind to make me breakfast even before the breakfast time.

We were in Ireland for two weeks and Asgard Guesthouse for 2 nights. Marie and Ron gave Asgard a unique and personal flavor that we thoroughly enjoyed. First, Asgard is certainly a great value stay. And second, Marie and Ron give great personal opinions about the local establishments and what there is to do in the area. While the rooms were perhaps a bit smaller than other B&Bs we stayed in on our trip, they were clean and comfortable. And the atmosphere in the public areas, particularly the full-of-light glass breakfast room and garden, was spectacular.

My sister, aunt, mother and I stayed here for just one night while we did a weekend trip to Galway from Dublin. Mary was so wonderful! We had a wonderful "family room" that had two twin beds and one double. It was just perfect for the four of us since we only packed an overnight bag, although we could have fit much more. Mary was so friendly and helpful, I felt like I'd known her forever! I would definitely recommend staying here again and wish I could have stayed longer. Breakfast was wonderful and the garden was beautiful.

Room Tip: If traveling with 4 or more, as for the large room on the first floor! It has two twin beds and one...

Thank you Mary and Ron for making my stay with you such a lovely experience. Breakfast was just delicious and your attention to detail does not go unnoticed. You made me feel so welcome and it was lovely getting to know you both. Very comfortable bed with great hot shower. If you ever find yourself in Brighton please call and I'll open a bottle. Geraldine :)

We spent an entire week in Ireland, staying at 5 B&B's in various cities. The Asgard and Mary were our best experience by far, both in value for money, coziness, and friendliness. The room, although small, was very comfortable and the shower was great. Lots of pillows on a comfortable mattress made us want to stay in and watch a movie! The breakfast was delicious and best of all Mary made us feel right at home the entire time. She gave us some great tips for places to go, including a great restaurant for dinner. We are tough critics but highly recommend Asgard!
