“The Place To Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2012

Our friends booked us into this B & B and we are so glad they did. We had a wonderfull stay. Mary & Ron were the perfect hosts, so friendly & helpful they really could not do enough for us. We arrived very late and Mary was duly waiting for us with a huge smile on face. The breakfast was very good with lots of choice and very filling. The rooms were clean & comfortable . We were looked after as if we were memebers of her family. We would certainly return and recommend Asgard to anyone wanting to travel to Galway.

Great B & B, Great City, Great People.

We flew overnight from the U.S. to Dublin and then drove over to Galway. We were extremely exhausted from lack of sleep and decided to go straight to Asgard Guesthouse not knowing what time check-in would be. Mary was so welcoming and invited us in from the rain. She had our room ready, even though it was only 10 a.m, and quickly finished her vacuuming so we could lie down for a bit. This was such a relief and allowed us a few hours of rest before beginning our Irish journey. The house was lovely and very home-like. It was clean and cozy. Mary was so helpful at all times. She was available with a map to show us restaurants, pubs, live music and tourist attractions. We took her recommendations and had such an amazing time. Galway was our favorite city in Ireland by far! Everything was a quick walk that we did not use the car the entire time we were in Galway. I cannot rave enough about Mary and the house! The breakfast was good(although we are not big Irish breakfast people) and the breakfast room was quite beautiful! Mary gave us recommendations for the rest of our journey too which was nice!

Mary was a fantastic hostess, she took very good care of us from the beginning of our stay, recommended good restaurants, pubs, etc... Cleanliness was very good and breakfast was superb. Very friendly and homely atmosphere!

Asgard B&B offered a very pleasant experience. Mary O'Flynn and her family were quite nice and provided great tips for dining and entertainment in Galway. The breakfasts were very good and the room was very clean and functional. If we ever return to Galway we will be staying at the Asgard.

Mary was a lovely friendly hostess. The rooms are a bit small and the en suite showers are very small for larger people. Town was fairly close by and the breakfasts were lovely (despite the fact that I found hairs on my plate on 2 occasions).
Unfortunately my room was very noisy and did not get too much sleep, otherwise our stay was fine.

I am a fiftynine year old man traveling around the world. I was very happy to find this B&B.It a very comfortable place to stay and The proprietor Mary O'Flynn loves her work and you can sure tell when you walk through the door she makes you feel welcome, she is a happy person and makes sure her guest a also happy and well cared for. In addition she is very knowledgeable about Galway and the surrounding area and can tell you where the best places to go are.Oh yes the breakfast is great and enough to last you nearly all day.

Loved this quaint B&B! Exactly what I imagined a B&B in Ireland would be like. Small, friendly, older house that makes you feel at home. What drew us was the dining area that was a beautiful sun room amongst a garden of green and flowers. A little bit of a walking distance to the center of Galway, but we are young and enjoyed the walk. We would definitely stay there again!
