“It's a must if enroute to Connemara”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 12, 2012

We all know about 'The Quiet Man" movie and the famous brigde !! My friends were down from Dublin for the weekend and stayed in Galway but 1st they stopped off in Moycullen at the Crossroads Rest. and Bar for a some seafood and steaks(which were delicious) and then got chatting to the owner who was telling them that Moycullen is the now the Gateway to Connemara and when I met them I said we could go for a drive so I brought them to see the Quiet Man Bridge near Mamm Cross past Oughterard Co Galway . It was great to see that they have a Picture of John Wayne and some info there on the site. We met a woman from USA and she said it was so good to meet some irish people who appreciated the 'Irishness' and enjoyed the romance of the Irish Movie played by Maureen O' Hara and John Wayne. We told her how Maureen O Hara had moved back to Ireland and was living In Cork!! My friends said it was a great stop off and were glad they did it!!

not worth going of you way but pleasant enough if your passing on your way out to the mountains.

“If You Love the Duke You'll Love the Bridge!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 30, 2012

We knew we would be driving past the bridge, so stopping was a must. It was well worth it. It is in a beautiful setting and, of course, takes you back immediately to the movie.

While staying at Ashford, we got to watch The Quiet Man again and it just made the stop all the more fun. Don't build your whole Irish vacation around it, but if you are anywhere near, you just gotta stop!

“Nice drive by viewer.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 23, 2011

It felt a bit odd of a spot to stop & look - but I really enjoyed seeing the Quiet Man bridge. I wouldn't take a special trip to see it - but the area is beautiful anyway, so it's certainly worth doing a quick stop at the bridge to take a picture.
