“great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2012

Brilliant location for a session with your mates. The staff were great especially jenny. She looked after us well. Rooms were a good standard and dinner was good. The pub itself was fairly busy.
I have only two little suggestions to help you improve .1 . You should have an option for breakfast and if not, then it should be highlighted when the booking is made . 2. The hotel reception entrance closes about 10pm and when our group were coming home a little worst for wear we couldn't get in and had to enter via a jam packed pub while being escorted by the door staff.

Room Tip: Try getting a room at the rear of this hotel. Extremely noisey until about 4am.

Fantastic location in Quay Street, right in the action for shopping, restaurants, pubs and the music!!!! We parked at the Claddagh Car Park two doors down at the bottom of Quay Street which was very handy for luggage and you get a special rate through the hotel. We stayed on a room only basis and had a very nice breakfast across the road from the hotel. The rooms were adequate and I thought there may be a problem with noise, but that was not the case. The pub itself was very lively with good music and decor. Would like to stay longer here next time.

Stayed here last October with a group of friends.for a girly mid week break. The hotel is in the centre of everything did not use the car once! Staff where fab especially the night porters. Rooms were very standard but for the price they were well worth it. Bar very cosy and live music made it all the more enjoyable. Will certainly stay again. However if u are looking for a quite get away note that this located on a very busy night life street and it may be worth asking for a room not facing the street.

I'm a regular eating out around galway and lately the food and service here has been terrible.
I called in for lunch recently and will not be calling back. We ordered Salmon salad which was supposed to come with kippers as the menu described but were told after receiving that actually the kippers were part of the horseraddish sauce?? Also the salad was terrible, it was obvious it had been sitting around for a few days, had no dressing and the cucumber was as dry as a bone when i unfortunately put it in my mouth.
Finally the service was shocking, no apologies were given for any of the above and the staff seem very ignorant. My recommendation is to go elsewhere, there are loads of fantastic options around galway.

Just stopped in the pub, but didn't stay in the hotel. The mussels in Guiness cream sauce were quite nice, as was the fish and chips. Decent, but not extraordinary. Nice stop while strolling around the pedestrian area.

Decided to stay in Galway an extra night so rang this hotel for a room. Stayed last Sunday night in a twin room at a rate of €79. Not bad.

The hotel is located right in the Quay Street. Great atmosphere. The room we were given was very small and cramped with very little air and a block wall a foot from the window. However the room was clean and fresh. TV, tea/coffee facilities and shampoo etc... all provided. Requested iron and ironing board which was promptly delivered to the room.

Front of house was very friendly and welcoming. Overall a pleasant experience. A hotel with plenty of character and a relaxed atmosphere.

Would recommend to others!

Room Tip: Request a front facing room if you dont mind the noise. They tend to be a bit bigger and more air ci...

I've been there in august 2012 for 3 nights with friends. We stayed in a quadruple room at the 4th floor. The room was very small for 4 people: there wasn't much space even for the luggage. The bathroom was clean and the room was clean too. There is a lot of noise coming from the street below because there're a lot of pubs and restaurant and you can hear the music being played in the pubs. So pro: you are in the middle of everything; cons: noise 'till late and small room.
