“Wonderful B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2014 via mobile

My sister and I spent 4 nights at this wonderful B&B. Matt and Marie made us feel like we were staying with our parents. They arranged for our tour bus to pick us up, laundry service and Matt even drove us to the train station. The rooms were spacious and extremely clean. The breakfast you ordered the night before and could choose from a traditional Irish breakfast to a smoothie or organic yogurt just to name a few! The service and presentation was 5 star. The B&B is right on the bus route with a 10 minute ride to the Eyre and very convenient. Hope to stay with Matt and Marie again someday!

We (four couples) stayed here for one night while attending a wedding in nearby hotel. The owners are so friendly and helpful. Very clean and beautiful house. Breakfast was gorgeous the next morning. Would definitely recommend staying here!!

The owners pay attention to detail with everything and are extremely helpful and friendly.
The breakfast is homemade and the rooms are clean and furbished nicely.
I would highly recommend this Bed and Breakfast for everybody who is travelling around the country and is looking for accommodation close to Galway City Centre.

A friend recommended this B & B for good service, close to the University campus and the city of Galway, peace and care of the hosts and the fact is that he was right, the hosts are very polite and worry that everything you need is within your reach and even care about your planning, not to miss the full day and enjoy your stay!

I stayed here for four nights with my Mum, we had a lovely stay and would recommend to friends and family. Marie and Matt were friendly, helpful and very welcoming. The breakfasts were great, lots of choice and they catered for me being vegetarian.
The guesthouse is a bit out of the center but with a very regular bus service right outside this didnt cause any inconvenience. The rooms were clean and comfortable, with all the amenities needed.
We were particularly impressed with how helpful Marie and Matt were, helping us with trips and general advice about the area.

I was very happy indeed to discover Almara Houlse in Galway. It is a 4* guest house AA and RIAC and the welcome, the room, the breakfast and the hosts are superb and I have no hesitation in promising that you will not be sorry if you stay there. The nearest thing i have to a complaint is that the bedroom was too hot but I simply turned off the heat and was very comfortable.

Room Tip: Rooms 8 and 9 were very quiet but I think all rooms are probably just as quiet.

We were so glad we chose Almara House to stay at for our night in Galway. We were able to park right in front of the B&B and easily unload. Matt was such a friendly host and he directed us to the bus stop on the street right outside of the B&B that took us downtown for the night. The room we had was upstairs, comfortable, with modern decor and the bottles of water provided were simple but so welcome after a night out on the town!

Really the only downside we saw was the distance away from the city center but with having the bus station so close by it was a very easy trip even in the rain.

Lovely, filling breakfast. I had some delicious pancakes but we were also provided with granola & yogurt, cereal, and a basket of bread & scones.
Matt chatted with us as we were the only diners at breakfast and asked us about the next leg of our trip, along with giving us some advice on which direction to take and sites to see. Would absolutely stay here if we are able to visit Galway again!
