This sweet little B and B was in a great location for Galway. The bus station was immediately out front and ran every 15 minutes and cost €1.45 each way and stopped at Eyre Square. The hotel itself was quietly elegant and spotlessly clean. Our hosts, Max and Marianne, were very friendly and welcoming. Max showed us our room, told us about the bus and made sure we were comfortable. The rooms were small but not overly so and the bathroom, while tiny, was spotlessly clean.
The bed was a bit small for what my husband and I like (we both like to sprawl) but it wasn’t too bad. The covers were thick and warm and there was a lovely tea cart in the hallway.
Breakfast was terrific, and served on very chic plates. Everything was prettily arranged and there were cute little dishes for everything – honey, cream, jams etc. It was a little surprising how elegant everything was given that it was a B and B and the hosts, while friendly, didn’t strike us as the dainty type. Not bad, just interesting. I had a delicious Irish porridge, scrambled eggs and soda bread and my husband had yogurt with muesli and crepes with chocolate sauce.
