This was the coolest B and B we stayed in during our trip to Ireland. It was very clean. The family was super welcoming and helpful. The breakfast was the best breakfast we had in Ireland. I highgly recommend you stay in this B and B.

This sweet little B and B was in a great location for Galway. The bus station was immediately out front and ran every 15 minutes and cost €1.45 each way and stopped at Eyre Square. The hotel itself was quietly elegant and spotlessly clean. Our hosts, Max and Marianne, were very friendly and welcoming. Max showed us our room, told us about the bus and made sure we were comfortable. The rooms were small but not overly so and the bathroom, while tiny, was spotlessly clean.
The bed was a bit small for what my husband and I like (we both like to sprawl) but it wasn’t too bad. The covers were thick and warm and there was a lovely tea cart in the hallway.
Breakfast was terrific, and served on very chic plates. Everything was prettily arranged and there were cute little dishes for everything – honey, cream, jams etc. It was a little surprising how elegant everything was given that it was a B and B and the hosts, while friendly, didn’t strike us as the dainty type. Not bad, just interesting. I had a delicious Irish porridge, scrambled eggs and soda bread and my husband had yogurt with muesli and crepes with chocolate sauce.
Very friendly hosts. Location not great. We really enjoyed Galway and probably should have stayed in city centre. You need to take a bus to get downtown. Very clean and comfortable rooms. This was my least favorite breakfast out of all the places we stayed.
We liked the Almara House, it was clean, stylish, quiet, and had everything we needed. We liked the tea station and the breakfast was nice. Due to the xmas traffic we walked into town and took the bus directly back-- easy both ways. We wouldn't hesitate to stay again. A couple of suggestions, though. First, there was a really itchy wool blanket on the bed-- I couldn't figure out what it was since it was coming through the sheets, but we put the bed cover in between us and the blanket and it was fine-- but something needs to be done about those blankets. Secondly, the big bottle of "bottled" water in the hall was either filled with tap water or the bottled water quality in Ireland is particularly bad. Neither big things and we enjoyed our stay.
Very clean B&B. Friendly owners. Will definitely stay again.
