This hotel is not one of the most amazingly luxurious hotels ever – but it’s a good, standard hotel.

We’ve stayed a number of times over the past couple of years and each time we have had no major complaints. It is a relatively new hotel, so everything is in a good state of repair and the hotel seem to keep the premises updated as necessary.

Positives:
- Great value for the standard of accommodation received. We’ve booked over the internet a few months in advance and have gotten it for €100 per night room plus B+B.
- The rooms are pleasant and sizeable. The beds, bedding etc is very comfortable, some of the nicest we have experiences. The king size beds are huge.
- Bathroom is adequate (though they have shower curtains which are a pet hate of mine as I usually end up drowning the floor!). Nice and clean with a good supply of toiletries.
- Air-conditioning in each room.
- Mini bar – though I think that you may need to request to have it stocked. We visited during race week and it was empty.
- Complimentary underground car parking provided.
- Absolute spa – a lovely treat.
- Food; breakfast is great, a really good selection of hot and cold alternatives, the sausages are great! We ate once in the bar, just a snack, which wasn’t great. It was very busy and we were under pressure for time. They got our order mixed up (waitress didn’t have great standard of English) and the quality of the food wasn’t the best – though they were apologetic and didn’t charge us for some of the meal in recompense.
- There is a really well stocked shop underneath the hotel and the hotel is right beside a shopping complex.

Possible things to consider:
- The location of the hotel. It is on the outskirts of the city on the Headford road. It would take approx 20 – 30 mins to walk into the centre and taxis are readily available (approx cost €10 per trip). The traffic around the area can be hectic at peak times.
- The sound proofing in the hotel isn’t the best. I found that we were awoken very early by doors banging in other rooms. The cleaners also start about their duties very early, so if you have ear plugs – wear them!
- My parents were also staying in the hotel and despite a “do not disturb” sign on the door, the cleaner arrived into the room at 9.10am. Locking the door may be the answer.
- Whilst the king size beds are more than adequate, the double beds are quiet small as they usually have a double and a single in the twin/double rooms. If you get the option – request a king size.

All in all a good hotel – especially for a short break or flying visit.

We stayed during the water situation so drank bottled water. I'm sure that is solved by now.

Hotel rooms were excellent and comfortable. The staff was less than friendly and the hotel is not close to downtown and shopping.

OK visit but an awfully lot like any hotel in America. I did not get much of an Irish experience here.

This hotel easily passed my wifes critical eye. Rooms modern and spotless. Bathrooms extra nice with stone finish.
This hotel is ideal for touring in a car which we were and has free
parking. Gas station next door with an extremely well stocked
convenience store with a sandwich shop. Hotel restaurant food OK
but avoid pizza - covered in heavy yellow cheese. Hotel bar great and all staff extremely helpful and extra nice. Free bottled spring water
located on every floor during water scare - which seems a
figment of some politicians imagination according to the local
newspapers. Located on main road about 1 mile from town but near 2 major shopping centers. If you go drive up the coast and take a day trip to the Aran Islands and then maybe a trip to Westport - great.

Agree w/ others that room is nice and staff helpful. But, staff
limited English created unneeded obstacles and hotel is a
good distance from main areas. NOT walkable. Other choices
would be better if closer to main area. We stayed during the
Boil water crisis seemingly created by idiotic politicians. More
then 2 months to clean up the drinking supply from the fecal
bacteria...come on this is not a 3rd world country. I'd avoid the
whole of Galway until problem is rectified. Check first!!!

We stayed in the Marriott Courtyard over the Easter period. The hotel is fabulous and the staff are very helpful and friendly. The rooms are a generous size with modern decor and have all usual accessories such as tea/coffee making facilities, fridge as well as air conditioning. For breakfast you can choose between a full Irish breakfast, scones and pastries or the healthy option of cereal and fruit. There is a bar menu for lunch/tea (you are limited for choice with this menu) and you can also dine in the restaurant for your evening meal, where you can choose between the set menu or pick from the a la carte menu. The hotel itself is within fifteen minutes walking distance from the city centre (Eyre Square and Shop street) or you can take a taxi, which can cost between six to eight euro. There is a spa attached to the hotel that is run by an independent company. We treated ourselves to a body treatment each, which was lovely and the enviroment is very relaxed and serene. The only downside is that the treatments are very costly.
On the whole we really enjoyed our stay in the Marriott and would definitely recommend it.
