My husband and I stayed at this hotel last weekend (June '08). The rooms were very clean and a decent size. Bathroom was nice with a good shower.

The staff at the hotel were excellent. Everyone was really friendly and helpful and service during meals was really good. We asked for a quiet room and that's what we got. The only downfall on the room is the noise from the air conditioning although you get used to it as it's a constant noise and we didn't have any trouble sleeping with it on. Also if you are there for a romantic weekend then I'd recommend getting a double bed rather than a king size bed, as the king size bed is really only two singles pushed together and dressed as one bed and so the middle of the bed can be a little uncomfortable in a king.

We ate dinner at the hotel the first night which was ok. My salad was a bit limp but the pizza was nice enough although I'm not sure I'd eat dinner there againa as there are lots of other nice restaurants in Galway. Breakfast was really good. Despite the fact that it was very busy at breakfast the staff did a really good job of catching up if stuff ran out or if tables were not set.

I also got a facial in the spa there which was really nice although a little on the pricy side.

The location is perhaps not it's strongest point but there are lots of taxis outside the door whenever we were there.

I would definitely stay there again if we came back to Galway.

I stayed at this hotel on a recent business trip.

Accommodation: The first room I was given was directly over the entrance to the car park, the racket from whose ventilation system made sleep impossible. I requested a move and was given another room which was much quieter, though I could still hear the hum of a ventilation unit from somewhere.

Both rooms, however, were clean, comfortable, and well appointed.

Restaurant: Dinner, though perhaps a bit on the pricey side, was excellent, served by efficient, friendly and interested staff. Breakfast, on the other hand, was badly organized, with many buffet items not being available until long after the supposed opening time.

The bar also provided a reasonable offering of food and drink served by pleasant staff. The staff, in fact, were a general strength of the hotel, though timing of some of the housekeeping activities was a bit peculiar!

Location: Not exactly an attractive location, but very convenient for local roads and nearby shops, and only 15 minutes’ or so walk from the city centre.

If you are looking for a quaint little Irish hotel, this isn't it. However, if you want a large, clean room with and equally large, clean bathroom, stay here.

It is not in the center of town, but only about a 15 minute walk away. There is convenience store next door for drinks and snacks. The staff was friendly. The walls are thin, as I could hear people in the next rooms, but not to the point where I could not sleep.

I was there during the water problem; however, it wasn't really a problem because they provided bottled water.

I really enjoyed my stay in Galway, and I loved coming back to that comfortable bed!

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. The rooms are fine except for the noise from the main road if you are at the front of the hotel.Dinner in the restaurant was far from 4 star!We waited 45 mins between finishing our starter-Chicken cesar salad which was served with more anchovies than chicken- to the time our main course arrived.Steak was ok but we ordered creamed poatoes which were cold even though they appeared to be microwaved and no veg arrived until we asked for it.Stir fry veg was the only option,no bolied or steamed veg.The returned cold potatoes were never replaced!!
Overall I would not stay here again.

I stayed in this hotel for one night on a business trip. I arrived on the Wednesday night at 11pm after a long journey. Check in was easy and staff pleasant.

However, when I got to my room I immediately noticed a loud humming noise which I thought was the AC but on further inspection I realised it was coming from outside the room. This was very annoying. I slept eventually out of pure exhaustion but awoke the next morning to the same noise. One of my colleagues stayed on a different floor and had the same problem.

Service at breakfast the next morning was poor but possibly because I was there at 7:15am. Nobody came to my table to take an order and I had to search somebody out to get coffee.

The hotel itself seems nice enough but looks older than it actually is. Having said all this, the price per room is reasonable and I may have been unlucky with the room. Had I arrived earlier I would have asked to be moved.
