We found this hotel to be very nice, very clean, very accommodating. CIE Tours did a nice job of providing lovely hotels during our Legends Tour. Loved every minute of it.

We had our wedding in the salthill hotel in june of this year. We were extremely happy with all aspects of the wedding . The staff were fantasic to deal with from the planning stage, right up to the day itself. Nothing was too much trouble for them and everything that they promised us, was delivered on the day.The wedding meal was extremely good and this was commented on by many of our guests. We had some guests with food allergies and they were given particular care and attention, which meant a lot to us. Overall, we were able to really relax and enjoy our wedding, thanks to this hotel and its staff.

The hotel overlooks the water and is a 10 minute walk along the promenade into Salthill centre.

Spa is great, with two swimming pools, big size whirlpool and a nice modern gym.

We had a triple room which was a great size. The negative was that the walls are very thin and i could easily watch my tv on mute and listen to the sound from the next room!

We organised having food in the hotel and it wasn't worth it. The hotel is so close to more modern restaurants, which have far better options, quality and value.

Staff were friendly and always asking how you were. Their bar whad beautiful decor and overlooked the bay. The prices here were good value

We had a room with a panoramic sea view on the 4th floor. The room was spacious and the bed huge. Some of the rooms that overlook the inside court of the hotel are very dark with little light coming in from outside.

The leisure facilities were second to none. There were 2 pools, a sauna, steam room, whirpool bath and fitness centre none of which were too busy. All of the staff we encountered were very friendly and obliging. Prices in the bar for both food and drink were reasonably priced and a pleasant change from the mad pricing in Galway!

Next time we are over in the west of Ireland we will be staying here.

The Salthill has a beautiful location overlooking Galway Bay and it is not far from downtown. The lobby and bar are impressive and the rooms were clean, modern and very comfortable. Food was excellent especially the salmon. Unfortunately we had a vending machine outside our door and the clunking of plastic bottles to the bottom of the machine went on until 2 am. We were also near the elevator and it beeped all night everytime it stopped on the floor. There was a lot of noise in the hall by other guests slamming doors. My advise...request a room away from the elevator and vending machines.

All in all this hotel is good value for the money; however, be mindful of your room's proximity to the bar and the noise generated by the hotel's wedding parties in the bar and ask for a room in which you cannot hear the noise generated by the wedding parties. Music ran from 11 pm until 2 am nightly during my 4-night stay, and since my room was situated relatively close to the bar, I found myself being woken in the early morning hours by loud music. On a positive note, the hotel is located directly across from the Promenade along Galway Bay, which made for nice walks along the Bay. Galway City Center is about a 15-minute walk from the hotel, which made for convenient access to the main shops and restaurants on Quay St.
