“When can i come back??”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2012

Stayed at the salthill hotel last weekend, and i was highly impressed. The staff at reception were extremely polite and could not help us more. The rooms are lovely and comfortable and homely, aswell as extremely clean. I ate the first night in the hotel in their Prom resteraunt and i was pleasently suprised with both the quality of the food and in fairness the price which was cheaper than i had expected. The second night i walked into town which is only a short stroll, and after a fine evening there when i came back to the hotel, the bar was well in swing and i enjoyed a few nice pints. It was a while since i stayed in salthill but any returns to galway in the future it'll be hard to stay anywhere but here.

In over a week of travelling in Ireland so far this has been our best accommodation. We were not sure what to expect, but what we got was: very friendly and helpful staff (thanks Eilleen), a well appointed room, a bathroom that worked as it should (well, except for a basin that drained very slowly), good wifi, and a good restaurant. Overall The Salthill was excellent value for money.

This hotel is situated just outside Galway city centre. We walked from the city to the hotel and it took about 20 mins, a very enjoyable walk along the promenade to the hotel so you don't even notice the time going by. There is also a bus that stops outside the hotel and drops you at Eyre Square, only takes about 5 mins. Bus passes hotel every 20 mins, bus timetable available at hotel reception.

The facilities are excellent here. Swimming pool with different speed lanes, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, kids pool, gym.. All areas were kept very clean and staff throughout the hotel are very friendly.

This hotel is a popular venue for weddings so if you are looking for a quiet, early night then you should ask reception to ensure your room is not above the function room. We were above the function room for the first night and we could hear the wedding band/dj until about 2am. However, we told reception the next morning and they were very accommodating and moved us to the top floor and into a suite.

The bar is very big and tastefully designed. Great views of Salthill & the sea from the bar. Food in the bar is reasonable. Pub grub.. However, there is a nice Italian restaurant in the hotel too.

Breakfast is a buffet meal. Plenty of food available and the quality is good. You do have to ask for your tea/coffee & toast though so do this before you plate up!!

Overall, we really enjoyed our weekend at this hotel. It is spacious, clean, good value with very friendly staff.

Room Tip: Ask for 4th floor, this is the top floor and very little chance of being disturbed by any private fu...

Fabulous hotel on Salthill Prom,at first i thought it was a bit far out as we were attending a friends going away bash but was only 5 min taxi ride into the city. Warm welcome, great bedroom, friendly staff -unfortunately I didn't get to use the unreal leisure facilities as a long sleep in was more necessary - looking forward to returning soon.

Stayed here with some friends on a midweek break and have to say the hotel was lovely. The views from the hotel are amazing, the reception staff and most other staff couldn't do enough for us. The room was lovely and everything was clean.

My only complaint was the waiting in the bar for service and then 1 barman in particular, he was unfriendly and I heard others saying the same. If you're going to work in customer service then you really need to be friendly towards the customers.
