We just got back from a trip to England and Ireland and stayed for two nights at the Bayberry House. I cannot stress enough what a lovely stay we had! Marie and Tom were wonderful hosts and, as previous posters have mentioned, go above and beyond what one would expect! My husband and three teenaged boys golfed in the pouring rain and when they returned, my husband asked if they could put their sopping wet clothes in the dryer. Marie kindly obliged. The next morning, after breakfast, we were handed a pile of freshly laundered AND folded clothes!! Marie said she couldn't bear to return dirty clothes, so she had washed and dried them for us!! And thought of it as no trouble!!

Marie wrote out a list of stores for me in Galway City that she thought I would like and was spot on!! At the Italian restaurant they recommended, DaRobertas, was one of the finest meals we had ever had in our lives!!

The rooms were spotless, breakfast was amazing and that shower!!!!! It WAS the best in Ireland (or England, for that matter!!) So, we highly recommend a stay at the Bayberry House, needless to say :)

Just returned from a delightful stay in Galway at Bayberry bouse. What a beautiful house, comfortable, tasteful public rooms & cosy, beautifully decorated bedrooms. I had a lovely garden view, complimentary tea/biscuits, TV with good channel selection & pristine bathroom with power shower. Marie & Tom were fantastic hosts, nothing too much trouble & always on hand to offer advice on directions & places to eat. Breakfasts really do set you up for the day....so we could save our euros at lunchtime for the evenings!! Wonderful choice of fresh fruit salads, hot & cold selection & cooked fresh. Bayberry house is a perfect base for ease of travel to both the Burren & Connemara regions. All in all a splendid stay in a beautiful area of Ireland.

The hosts contributed to my boyfriend and I having a wonderful stay in Galway; they told us about great places to eat, driving directions, places to visit ect. they were awesome! Every morning we had a lovely breakfast! The rooms were extremely clean we had a queen size bed, dresser and a small t.v, a tea kettle for tea or coffee if we pleased. The bathroom was small but the shower was wonderful! It was about a 7-10 minute ride to town and we found parking easily, but we could have just have been lucky. If you are a young couple or any traveler and feel like you are past the youth hostel stage of your life then I would highly recommend this B and B.

  • Liked — The hosts were so helpful and the place had a great country style to it!
  • Disliked — no bathtub

Beautiful place. Best Shower in the world, I'D reccomend it just for the shower. Owner bent over backwards to be of service. Wonderful breakfast. About a 10 minute ride out of Galway.

We absolutely loved the Bayberry House. The rooms were nice and comfortable. The bathrooms had been remodeled and were very nice. Breakfast was plentiful and very good. Marie, the proprietor, was very welcoming and helpful. The gardens out back were especially beautiful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

Perhaps the only downside was the location, about a 10 minute cab ride to get into downtown Galway.

  • Liked — The nice rooms and friendly staff
  • Disliked — The location was too far to walk into downtown Galway
