Booked into the Kingsvalley Hotel recently for 4 nights but only stayed 2... When we arrived I was happy with how the hotel looked - generous sized bedrooms, lovely bathrooms and I cannot praise the staff enough. The receptioists especially were very friendly and helpful. We also ate in the bar that evening and the food was very good. However, the problem with this hotel is that there doesn't seem to be any solid concrete walls and you can hear every single tiny noise made from anywhere in the building. On our first night the hotel was quiet enough and the room next door was vacant. However, the noise on the second day was hard to bear - I could hear every word of the conversation of the couple who checked in next door - and they were not even speaking loudly. That night we were constantly woken as people made their way back to their rooms. The next day, after more uncomfortable "evesdropping" we decided to cut our losses and check out. I hate to run this place down, as I said, the staff are lovely and it is very clean with good solid furnishings, but I could not recommend this hotel on the grounds of the noise issue - it would have to be experienced to be believed!
