Stayed here for 2 nights. The hotel is nice. Front desk gals are extremely pleasant and friendly. The workers in the Rest/Bar were OK, but did not greet me with a smile/hello. I had room 104. Overall, it was good. Weird shower that I quickly got used to but it was hard not making a water mess accross most of the bathroom floor. Everything in the room worked just fine and the bed was very comfortable. I was able to get 2 nights of 12 hours sleep in that room, something that does not happen for me often. Location was good for me as I did not want to be right in the middle of downtown Galway. Downtown is about a 5 to 10 min drive.

  • Liked — modern hotel and the location
  • Disliked — shower/bathroom design

I was in the area with work. I stayed here for 1 night booked it direct over the phone.
It will now be our new galway company accommodation.
Brilliant rooms, very friendly staff, nice bar and superb value.
I didn't get dinner there because the restaurant closes at 9, didn't arrive until 10. However the receptionist directed me to the nearby chippy which filled the hole until the nice full irish breakkie the next morning.
Throughly recommended.

Stayed in The Kingsvalley Hotel for a Saturday night in July 2007. Decided to stay there seeing as I didn't plan on a hectic night in Galway city centre...the hotel is about a 10 minute drive away the centre!!! Also...got it for £81 for a double room B&B!!!
Our room was huge, nicely decorated and had a bath with a combined shower!!!
The hotel has a small enclosed car park that fits about 15 cars!!!
We had an enjoyable evening in the very chic hotel bar...was a live band on who were very good and kept us amused with their covers!!!
Breakfast was just the usual...is actually served in the bar...buffet style!!!
One thing that impressed me about the hotel was the staff...the softly spoken English guy on the reception...the bar staff who took your order at the bar and brought the drinks over to your table for you...the breakfast girls...all had the right sort of helpful and pleasant attitude!!!

  • Liked — The staff and live music put on
  • Disliked — Nothing really

I enjoyed a very pleasant stay in this hotel in the week running up to Christmas. Obviously at this time of year the hotel bars and restaurant were always busy, but never had any problems with noise.
The bedrooms are large and well furnished and the decor of the bar and restaurant area is great.
The staff are very helpful and friendly and always keen to help with any queries.

The only drawback I would highlight is that it's a bit further out from the city centre than many other hotels, but if you plan on exploring the spectacular countryside outside the city this is not too much of a problem. Also there is a bus service not too far from the hotel if you want to leave the car at the hotel and sample some of Galway's excellent pubs.

  • Liked — Very big room, nice decor
  • Disliked — Location and wasn't particularly keen on the restaurant
