We stayed at the G for 2 nights on September 1st and 2nd. Firstly let me say that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the hotel.

First impressions are always important and as soon as we drove up the car and cases were whisked away and we entered the reception area. It is surreal as are most of the public areas.

Checkin took only moments and we were given a tour of the public areas. These are worth going to see as they are so Over The Top that they work wonderfully. Even the elevators and the corridors are beautifully designed.

We stayed in a Junior Suite and it was great. The 6ft Bed was very comfortable and the room came with it's own gas fire and plasma TV. We were even treated to complimentary fruit, water and those little fairy cakes. Newspapers were delivered each morning. The room was pure luxury and could not be faulted in any way.

The bathroom itself was a marvel - the free standing bath had the perfect view of the TV in the bathroom!!! The double shower and twin sinks were very nice. It was great to see large bottles of shampoo, bath salts, body lotion, foam bath etc. Strange though that there was no shower gel of any kind!

We had dinner in the restaurant and it is very expensive - as is everything about this hotel. I can understand paying high prices for the accommodation but it was a ridiculous €15 for beans on toast in your room (plus another €8 per person just to have them in your room). Breakfast was €25 for a full Irish and to be honest it was nothing special.

We didn't use the SPA because the prices are very high and we were also going to be charged €30 per person just to go into the SPA and use the facilities. This is rediculous when you think of the price of a suite in the hotel.

All in all, the staff were friendly and efficient. The hotel is over priced and the food is so very expensive. It annoys me that after paying almost €1,000 for a weekend we were asked to pay for a visit to the SPA area and that wasn't even to get any treatments.

This is not the type of place you go to when you just want a bed for the night and a base from which to stroll to the local attractions. Staying in the hotel and spending time in the hotel, in the public areas, in your room is what this is all about.

The hotel is spectacular but there is the feeling that if you sneeze you will be charged exorbitant prices for doing so!

  • Liked — The feeling of luxury and the extravagence.
  • Disliked — The price fo things which should be included for free.

Having just returned from a 3 night stay at the G for our 1st wedding anniversary I feel that the hotel is a little over hyped! Yes it is a very nice hotel with excellent decor and the public rooms are very luxurious but what really lets this hotel down is it's location on an shopping complex. We drove straight past the place trying to find it thinking that cant be it can it! The directions to the hotel provided on the website are very poor and we ended up parking in the underground car park with no idea how to get to the front of the hotel.

Once inside the decor is very lush and beautiful and the room we stayed in although a standard was very well decorated and of a decent size with a very nice bathroom but not a separate bath and shower as portrayed on the website.

The restaurant is very over priced with a very poor choice which included only 4 starters and be warned to order side dishes with the main course otherwise you will leave feeling hungry!

The prices for food and drink are very expensive and I cannot see how they can justify the prices. The spa is ridiculously over priced and never seemed busy when we walked by.

All in all we enjoyed our stay but we would not return to this hotel in the future and it will be interesting if the hotel stands the test of time as the location is really not the best.

What can I say!! If you want to spoil yourself or a loved one then this is the place. The outside is a bit dissappointing, but on arrival we were greated by a friendly conceirge who took our bags and also the car. There is a free valet service. Staff were very friendly. There is a large fish tank in the lobby with gorgeous seahorses. The lounges were absolutely breathtaking. Comfy chairs and trendy decor. Attention to detail is outstanding. Our room was spacious with a great bed and complimentry tea cakes. Breakfast was also to die for in the restaurant with a wide selection, from fresh fruit to smoked salmon to a tasty full Irish!

I admit it was a bit expensive but worth it for a special occasion. It is built to 5* standard after all! Don't know how anyone could leave negative feedback. Sheer Bliss.

Designed by Philip Treacy of the Hat fame, this hotel exudes glam and style. On entry you are struck by how unlike other hotels it is.(A dark dimly lit reception area?) The lounges just off the lobby are very funly, colours are pink, violet, purple, brown (trust me, it works) and blue wiht comfy chairs.

The rooms seem great, We upgraded to a premier room and got one that was at least 600 sq ft. The bathroom was wonderful wiht twin sinks AND twin showers alonside a free standing bath tub. All fittings and decor throughout were detailed and tasteful. The staff were uniformly friendly and very helpful.

Food: We had afternnon tea in a lounge, room service (they offer beans on toast and marshmellows for mid-nite munchies) two in-room brekkies and an evening meal in Santini restaurant. All food was warm, well prepared, fresh and tasty. Also the food and drinks were reasonable considering the type of hotel we were in. (The Morrison bar fares very badly in my estimation at this stage) Afternnon tea was 55 Euro which had tea,s/w,plenty cakes and large pink champers for two.

Also they have an impressive spa in-house. Its expensive but you can book packages so its included in your (obviously no dearer) room rate. We had two hours of bliss there.

I work in aviation and travel a lot. This place took my breath away.

Trendy designer hotel. Stayed with my wife on honey moon. The only complaint is about the price, a bit too expensive. Also, the location is a bit far from the town center.

The staff was helpful and friendly. Room service efficient.
