Booked this weekend away in Galway for pure rest and relaxation. The G was ideal. The decor was excellent, the staff fabulous and the bed had to be the comfiest in Ireland. We felt thoroughly relaxed and did not want to come home. One little warning, we were led to believe there was no problem using the Thermal Suite and when I went back down (after my partner had gone in for a massage and I had planned to go in to meet him in the Thermal Suite) they told me that I couldn't go in as it was too busy (this was 20 mins after I had been told there was no problem). They didn't really try to sort it out so wasn't thrilled with that. He had a fab massage though. Overall, the service is great though, the ambience wonderful and the whole experience very relaxing.

The G hotel is nothing short of a masterpeice !!!
From the moment you walk in the door, you are aware that you are somewhere special. The decor designed by Philip Treacy is out of this world, every little detail has been well thought out, and it has a very relaxing atmosphere. The staff were nothing short of incredible, they went out of there way to make you feel very welcome, and you had the sense that they were very proud to be working there, and thoroughly enjoying it. Our fellow guests were also very friendly, and ranged from couples, to families with small children, and teenagers. I recommend eating there, the food was fantastic ( abit too fantastic, and i'm now on a major diet !! ). If you want a lovely experience the G is the place to go.

on arrival to the g hotel, admittedly our first 5 star, we expected to be greeted by a friendly top hat wearing butler with a twinkle in his eye giving us our first taste of this self proclaimed luxurious 5 star hotel..... instead we struggled up steps with our cases with no ramp in sight and inside no one looked particularly busy ??!!
once inside however, the design which we heard so much about cancelled out our first dissappointment. Being 12 o clock our room wasn't ready which gave us a chance to take in the hotel's many varying and wonderful designs. Decided to have a bit of lunch please skip the minestrone soup!!
Went for a walk in close proximity to hotel and realised the reviews of its location were also true...half two came and we were shown to our room which was at the end of the price scale but none the less luxurious, but we didn;t get any of these fairy cakes we keep hearing about from other reviews!!?!
In the morning had breakfast in bed, deliverd nicely to the room but food temp was a little tepid and also got a pot of jam which was already opened and also used!! This was reported to staff as a small matter but went unanswered. We also did not recieve our promised compimentary copy of "The Independent". The following morning having every faith that our breakfast would arrive without a hitch, it came as though it was made the previous morning, again problem conveyed to staff ....to no avail. On second complaint recieved a lame excuse of miscommunication from staff. This is a 5 star hotel??????

Happened upon this Hotel by chance on a website and could'nt believe that I had not heard about it.
It looked too good to be true, but we took the plunge anyhow booking in for a weekend and boy were we delight that we did!
We thought that it was excellent value in every way. The best spa treatment I've had. We cannot wait to go back, you dont even notice the location, in fact you forget you are in Ireland. We didnt leave the hotel. Fabulous.
