I'm 22 and from Galway, but when my boyfriend comes to visit me on the few days we can get off work we love to stay in hotels and simply relax. The g is absolutely perfect for this.
I first went there during my NUIG graduations and booked it for one night. Such was my happiness I had to stay the second night.
I've been back three times since and simply adore it. Everything is as it should be, modern and comfortable. The staff are so friendly, well there was one slight exception. The Polish breakfast manager is extremely polite and helpful, however we were one of the last few couples in the breakfast room and he was speaking in Polish with another member of staff and used the word "curva" alot, which essentially is the f word in English. It was a little bit unnerving, I wasn't aware what he was complaining about but I doubt it was necessary to conduct in front of guests, even if you think they can't understand you.
Anyway that small detail aside, the rest of the place is fabulous. There's a delightful fresh smell in the air all the time, great shampoos, a shower that would almost skin you it's that good (unless you stay in the basic room where the shower is in the bath and there's no couch in the room which I don't like), a great tv and dvd player, fabulously soft carpets, a delicious breakfast.
The different rooms are fabulous, especially at nighttime, when everything just seems to glitter!
I've stayed in many hotels in Galway, but none compare. The one thing
I miss in a hotel is a swimming pool, as I'm not really interested in spa treatments, however it's not largely important.
I find that €160 on a weeknight for two is very reasonable, all things considered.
I was addressed by name by one member of the reception staff, who then remembered my name two weeks later, which was both professional and impressive and I was very happy with.
I'll definitely go back, certainly in the near future.
