This is a really luxurious hotel - the lounges are not quite to my taste so much but they didn't deter from the wonderful accomodations and the terrific hotel staff.

Food brillant and service with a extra dollop of intelligence.
Parking/Valet service also excellent.
Con's
The Hotel complex is situated in a retail park and to get to town in a taxi you have to drive through the park - can be cumbersome.
Location is slightly too long to walk to town.
The flowerpots on the exterior of the second floor are now weed pots !!!
Overall though an excellent place for a romantic break

Originally there were four of us booked into the G Hotel in Galway, we adjusted the booking so there were actually five of us going, and I must add there were very accommodating for us. On the journey up all we could think of was seeing the Hotel and of course our rooms. On check in, and I must stress that the receptionist was in no way rude but lacked the welcome that I think we were all expecting. We were showed to our rooms and the porter took care of our luggage where I must add we brought in from the car ourselves. On entering the room I must add I was a little disappointed, I felt it lacked colour. We decided to start our holiday by opening a bottle of champagne, so I rang down to reception for some ice and an extra glass, where it was brought up quite promptly, but what I was surprised by was how I was just handed the tray at the door and was never offered by the lady to bring it in. Now overall I must admit that I enjoyed my time in Galway, but as for the G Hotel I think that some of the staff could do with some social and interpersonal skills, not what I was expecting from a five star hotel.

The best hotel we stayed in during our honeymoon in Ireland. Great service, lovely food and spacious rooms of real luxury. The retail park location is bizarre but only serves to add to the unique appeal of the hotel. The attention to detail is what makes the place. Yes it can be expensive but go their, use the ESPA spa and pamper yourself.
