“Interesting hotel, totally not what you expect in country Ireland”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 20, 2013

We drove past the hotel twice before realising it was a hotel. From the outside, it looks more like a modern office building. There is only the "g" sign out front that identifies the property. The hotel is quite different, in a positive way. It is very modern and the colours are strong bright pink's. Very art deco. The room we booked was a Junior Suite. It was a nice room and the gas fireplace was the highlight. Large bathroom with bath and large shower. The view from the room is across the causeway. The only thing I would warn against is that if you are looking for a typical Irish hotel, located in the middle of Galway, then there are other choices. The hotel as I said is ultra modern and located a good 25 minute walk to the centre of Galway. There is only one pub opposite if you want to eat outside the hotel. Overall, a very comfortable hotel with all the amenities, gym etc.

Room Tip: The junior suites have a gas fireplace and lounge area which was very nice.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for choosing to stay with us at the g earlier this month. It was lovely to read how much you enjoyed the unique design of the hotel. Our Junior Suites boast stunning views of Lough Atalia, a gas fire place, a walk in shower as well as a designer bath tub.
We really do appreciate your kind comments and we hope to get the pleasure of welcoming you back to the g in new year.

Kind Regards,
The g Hotel Management Team

The hotel is quite accessible and near to the main traffic routes of east Galway. When we arrived a porter came to help with our bags and offered to park the car in the hotel garage, check in was efficient and friendly. The hotel is decorated in a boutique modern style with modern art style furnishings. The bedroom was spacious and well decorated in the similar modern design, the bathroom was spacious with bath and walk in shower. I tried the room service which was efficient but the menu selection was quite limited and the food quality was not really what I expected.
Check out was also efficient and my car was retrieved from the garage and my luggage put in the trunk. Overall a pleasant stay in a good hotel. Would use again if in Galway.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for taking the time to post a review of your recent visit to the g. We were pleased to read how well our Concierge team looked after you upon arrival to the hotel. It was also lovely to read how much you enjoyed the décor of our hotel as well as our spacious and modern bedrooms. We were of course disappointed to read that our in room dining options did not meet your expectations and we will of course look into this in further detail. We offer all of our menu options in the hotel until 10pm every night and have a reduced menu between 10pm and 7am, however there are many options of freshly prepared warm meals on our night menu.
We really do appreciate your review and we hope we get the opportunity to welcome you back to the g in the new year.

Best Wishes,

The g Hotel Management Team

I came across this hotel on line and really liked the combination of ultra modern and elegant classic decor. It did not disappoint! It was beautiful and we thoroughly enjoyed our elegant suite and complimentary breakfast. It is easily within walking distance of downtown Galway unless you have some limitation. We are in our 60's and walked back and forth twice. The service was good and the hotel was very clean. We would definitely stay there again if we ever were to return to Galway.

Stayed here with my mum for 2 nights.
From the moment we got to The G Hotel on 28th November we were overwhelmed by the sheer beauty of the hotel, the quality of service and how great of a decision it was to stay here.
Our first day here we got to our beautiful room, with the biggest most luxurious bed we'd both ever seen. We then visited the Espa Spa where we were treated like royalty, from the thermal suite to the relexation room to the actual treatment itself I cant say how wonderful it all was! We then relaxed some more after the treatment and when we were ready we floted back to our rooms where we got ready for dinner. We had dinner from the dine at dusk menu, the food was magnificent, mouth watering, both my mum and I barely spoke a word to each other through the whole meal, only decide if we should have another glass of wine or not of course!!
That evening we went to the Galway Christmas markets, which was child's play as we had opted for Valet parking so our car was brought to us and we then took the short journey to the city centre and when we were ready dropped the car at the front door where the extremely helpful valet took our car.
The next day we had the most delicious breakfast. After coming back from a hard days shopping we got to reception after setting our minds on a night cap, the staff insisted on taking our shopping bags to our room while we happily retreated to one of the beautiful lounges where of course our drinks order was taken with no objection. We retired to our room early to find not only our shopping bags placed neatly in the corner but our room had been visited by the 'turn down' service. Our beds had been remade, much neater than our attempt that morning, our glassed put on the tv stand along with our ice bucket filled, beautiful soft oprah music on the tv, remote laid out elegantly on the bed along with the option to have breakfast in bed given to us the next morning, which of course we darent resist!
Breakfast arrived the next morning with a gentle knock and a trolley food of wonderful and delicious foods, with real silver coffee pot, silver milk jug and a seperate heated compartment for our breakfast.
The next morning after sleeping like hiberating bear cubs we went to the Espa Thermal suit to really relax before we left. We once again floated to our room where we got ready and checked out. Our suit cases and shopping bags were merrily brought and packed into our car and the car brought around. We indulged ourselves in one more exquisite cup of coffee and sat in the final lounge longingly wishing we didn't have to leave, hoping we could stay in the pink cloud that was the middle lounge.
All in all it was an amazing experience once which we will be repeating again in the future.
The running theme throughout the whole two days was luxury, excellence, opulence, finite detail, service plus from every staff member we came across and pure heaven on earth.

I recently stayed in The G for a midweek break with my husband and small child. From the minute we arrived we were made feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble.
The hotel is beautiful although a little misleading from the back door.We enjoyed a delicious meal in the restaurant and the breakfast was superb.
Location is great ,only a short walk from Eyre Square. I would definitely recommend The G if you are planning a trip to Galway. Also the spa is gorgeous.

I stayed at the G hotel with my partner for a mini break. I loved the style of the hotel so modern yet so comfortable. We were checked in by Niall at reception who was fantastic, very informative about what we can do in the area yet so efficient and very friendly. The room was beautiful and so comfortable, such value for money. We loved it there and will defiantly be back!!

Room Tip: Upgrade if possible, it is absolutely worth it!!

I stayed here for work, so I didn't experience the spa or anything else. It has a quirky Alice in wonderland style. I ate dinner there twice and breakfast there three days. The food was great. The rooms were nice. The staff was nice. I paid 100 Euro per night which includes free parking and breakfast. Not a bad value.
