Just back from 2 nights at The G Hotel in Galway.
It is a beautiful inside with different rooms to sit down and relax in. The bar prices are relatively expensive but there was entertainment each evening which was excellent and it was a pleasure to hang out in the hotel.
It is about a 3-4 min drive from the town centre and a 15 min walk.
Stayed in a Superior room which is the basic room. As with the rest of the hotel it was nice, comfortable and well decorated in a very modern style. The bathroom was a decent size and shower was good.
Breakfast was excellent. There was a good selection of food for the continental side of things and the cooked breakfast was very good also. One small thing that annoyed me is that milk for the cereal was not chilled but placed in a large glass jug. Surely there must be some sort basic technology available to keep the milk chilled!
It has a 5 star rating but I would give it a high 4 for a couple of reasons. The grounds outside the hotel are non existent and the back and side of it connects to a group of shops and cinema. There is a Spa there but no pool for general use by the guests.
Overall it was a very pleasent stay with only the warm milk on my cereal and the grounds surrounding the hotel letting it down. Once you are inside the building it is a pleasure to stay in.
