“Spectacular!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 15, 2013

A long, long drive, but so beautiful and wild! You can hike several different trails and there is a very nice cafe for food and tea. There is a great little museum that explains the formation of bogs and how civilization interacted with it. I loved my visit!

Awesome views. Best from the top. blue path is not really worth it. but
red definitely is the way to go for the best views. Nice to have a picnic on the top too! Bring water!

“Gorgeous views, lovely walk”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 14, 2013

The walk around the national park is one of the highlights of my trip to Ireland. The weather was lovely, the place quiet and peaceful (definitely not overrun with tourists!), and everything was gorgeously green. Don't miss it if you're in the area! It can be a bit windy when you head up the Diamond Hill trail though, and while stepping stones served as the walking path up the hill, it can be a bit tight on space. A guided walk is also available, which will tell you more about the area.

PS: Connemara ponies no longer roam wild in the area, but you can pay the ones in the park's stable a visit :)

“Interesting Park!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 12, 2013

I found the Connemara to be a lot more than what appears. At first glance it seems to be a very desolate landscape; however the visitor center educated me on the many layers (pun intended), of the park! The history of the bogs was fascinating.

I left with much more knowledge and appreciation than when I arrived.

Overall, very pleased with the visit.

“Incredible views!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 11, 2013

If you go to Connemara, do not miss the 7 km walk up to Diamond Hill in Connemara National Park. If you are lucky with the weather, views are simply breathtaking! Only minus, the offer in the tearoom of the visitors centre was extremely poor.
