We really enjoyed this little B&B. The hosts are extremely friendly and accomodating and the rooms, while basic but comfortable, had little touches that showed real thought, such as a good hair dryer and a clock radio. The walk into Galway took only 5 - 10 minutes, and the car parking area was very convenient. The breakfasts were delicious as well. I would highly recommend this B&B.

Charming B&B on the 'B&B row,' which is a nice walking distance into town - 5 mins. walk to Eyre Square. Frank, one of the owners, is a host extraordinaire - a real delight. The breakfasts were creative and delicious - many choices.

We took the ferry to Inishmoor for the day and rented bicycles - it was a wonderful thing to do and I highly recommend it to any visitors to Galway. Plan on buying your real Aran sweater there, and you can even buy a Claddagh ring in the Claddagh section of Galway.

Of the B&Bs we stayed in during our week in Ireland, Petra House was by far our favorite. Our double room was large and had many amenities that we didn't have in other B&Bs-- iron, coffee/tea-making in the room, extra towels and soap/shampoo.
Frank the host was extremely friendly and the breakfasts were great! The B&B is located a 5-10 minute walk from the city center. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Galway!

The Petra House is one of the nicest b'n'b's i have ever stayed in.
Booked two single rooms for my friend and I. The rooms were absolutely huge, and these were singles. The double/twins must be massive. Bathroom huge and bright and clean, beds comfy, decor and furniture very tasteful and contemporary. TV with full selection of channels, iron/ironing board in the room.

Plenty of closet/wardrobe space.

Didnt have time to get breakfast.
Seemed to be some parking outside. Its a 5 minute walk max to Ayre Square.

The owner was extremely nice. No noise from outside.

I will be staying there again!

Of the 13 hotels and B & B’s we stayed at in Ireland and Scotland, our favorite was the Petra House in Galway. The bed was the most soft and comfortable, the location was within walking distance of the downtown (maybe a 5-10 minute walk), breakfast was very good and Frank was very helpful. I especially liked the room in which they served breakfast. It was an overall very pleasant experience. When we return to Ireland, I’d like to spend more time in Galway. It felt more Irish than Dublin and had many shops in active surroundings.

I would also recommend a day trip to Dun Aenghus on the Aran Islands. It was very similar to the Cliffs of Moher without the restrictions. We were able to go as close as we dared to the edge of the cliffs at Dun Aenghus where as at the Cliffs of Moher the walking path does not go near the edge and visitors are discouraged from going over the walking path retaining wall by security.

Enjoy the picts! Thanks Frank!
