Let me start by saying that we would return to this B&B if we will visit Galway again (which most likely to happen).

Pro:
########
1. Very clean and tidy.
2. The hosts are very nice and warm, willing to help you in any question.
3. VERY really VERY good breakfast. We had very little time at the morning but still spent the time to enjoy the menu "Petra house" gives. You can choose from a very varied menu and combine several dishes.
4. close to the center - about 10 minutes walk from the center where all pubs and restaurants located.
5. free parking

Cons:
########
1. We got a room that had three beds (we actually used only one bed) and it took a lot of space, so although the room itself is bug - there is little free space
2. decorations are old and heavy, but nothing too depressing
3. Hard to find the right entrance. the B&B located on a road of tens of B&Bs and the Petra house has a small sign, unlighted, so we had to stop and ask where it was because if you get their late and it is raining, you will probably miss the house.

Petra House is one of a row of B&Bs on College Road in Galway, a 5-to-10 minute walk to the vibrant center of town. We stayed there for one night in Sept 2008 when we visited town to enjoy the Oyster Festival. The house offers off-street parking. Were were warmly received by Frank who was very helpful. Our room was a comfortable double - immaculate - with a compact but functional bathroom. The in-room TV allowed us to catch up with news of the financial melt-down and presidential debates at home in the USA. We thoroughly enjoyed the city - had oysters, Guiness, brown bread and Irish stew at The Quay and listened to Trad Irish music (American Bluegrass and Country) at The Crane. Breakfast at Petra was exceptional - one of the two best we had during our 2 weeks in Ireland. We'd happily recommend Petra House to anyone traveling to Galway.

Referred onto here from another place i stayed in and enjoyable enough.Room average size ,neat ad tidy, small bathroom and as others say not great water pressure.Breakfast and dinign room very nice and as it is only a short walk up from city center a handy enough place to stay for work. Not the cheapest b&b I have visited and amount of cheaper hotels in Galway are probably killing the b&bs.

Petra House was my first experience with a B&B.
Frank and Joan, made you feel as if you were a longtime friend staying with them. They went above and beyond in every way.
The house is beautiful and very very clean.
It was an easy walk to the bus and train station and the town square.
I cannot end this review without mentioning the geat breakfast. The menu is large and the food delicious.
I would stay there again, in fact I would not stay anywhere else.
