We stay in Petra House any time we visit Galway..Its in a great location just down from Eyre Sq so great for walking into town.

The rooms are spotless and the breakfast is the best we have seen including a wonderful fruit salad.
The owners are very friendly and make you feel at home with no silly rules or telling you to be "quiet when coming in " something we have had before because we are both young!!

All and all a great place to stay.

This was the best B&B we stayed in during our 2-week honeymoon in Ireland. It is impeccably clean and the owners are delightful! It is in a great location, about a 10 minute walk to the city center, train station, shopping and restaurants. It was very easy to find too. The decor is beautiful and the rooms are spacious with comfortable beds. We stayed for 3 nights while in Galway. Breakfast was delicious too, and we tried almost everything on the menu! Joan's homemade breads and scones are exceptional. I highly recommend this B&B to anyone staying in Galway.

Having read previous reviews, we anticipated that this B & B would be great, and we weren't disappointed. The house is spotlessly clean with large rooms, and is only 5 minutes walk from Eyre Square. Excellent value for money. What was most impressive was the welcome and friendliness of Frank and Joan. From the second we arrived, they were attentive and most helpful with everything. One night during my stay, it must have been about 11.30pm, I woke up thirsty and instead of having to go outside, Frank gave me a large bottle of water from the fridge and would not accept any money for it. Breakfast was beautifully presented and delicious. Of all the B & B's I have stayed in, this was by far the best and was made all the more enchanting by the warmth and graciousness of the hosts. I very much enjoyed my stay and would highly recommend this B & B.

We had one night in Galway City and had booked this B&B which was just 7 minutes walk into the city, and we were so lucky we
picked Petra House.
Frank is such a helpful gentleman, he gave us a map of the city & pointed out different pubs with music and places to eat.
The house was immaculately clean and very cosy and we were made to feel very welcome in their home. The breakfast menu was brilliant too, especially the warm homemade scones that his wife Joan had made ~ everything was perfect.
So if your looking for a brilliant place to stay in Galway City, don't hesitate to book Petra House, as you will not be disappointed.

I found the Petra House after searching the reviews in TripAdvisor and we were not disappointed. We travel often and prefer B&Bs and Petra House was a wonderful choice. Frank and Joan were very welcoming and provided lots of information on what to see, where to eat and how to book tours. Lots of information available at the B&B if you needed it. The B&B was full when we arrived so there was only one room available but Frank did offer us to move us the next day when the other guests vacated but our room was great so there was really no need.

Breakfasts were wonderful, Joan's daily homemade goodies made them special. Lots of different choices and definitely plenty of food to keep you going for the day.

The B&B is a short walk into the main tourist area but close the visitor centre where all the bus tours start from. We were based in Galway for 4 nights and did tours to see the surrounding areas and there was lots to see and a good choice of restaurants and pubs with live music nightly.

Petra House has everything you need for a great visit.
