I can only echo the high praise that others have had for Petra House. The location, hospitality, value, food, etc. are all exceptional. Frank went well out of his way to ensure that we always had directions, approximate timelines and recommendations to make our stay pleasant and easy.

I have already recommended Petra House to several friends and business colleagues who are considering travel to Ireland and plan to return there again as soon as I can!

Our stay at Petra House was a great start to our honeymoon. We arrived even ealier than expected at the B&B and we were greated warmly by Frank, who then insisted on us having an Irish Breakfast. Oh, how delicioius. The dining room was gorgeous and the tables were set up to perfection.
We then went to our rooms to unpack and take a nap. Our room was so nice and clean and the bed was so comfortable!
We walked to downtown Galway - about 8-12 minute walk....not bad at all. From Petra, we rode to the Cliffs of Moher, which is a must see!!! We also drove thru the Burren.
I would highly recommend staying here! Frank and Joan are lovely people who made our stay very enjoyable!!

We spent the first two nights of January 2008 in Galway at The Petra House. Owners Frank and Joan keep their B & B very clean and comfortable. Galway was rather empty on Jan. 1 with all the usual tourist attractions closed. Joan suggested a walk along the water and gave us a large bag of bread crumbs to feed the swans. We had a wonderful time feeding the birds and enjoyed the beauty of the Galway waterfront. Frank assisted us in planning the next phase of our trip. We did not rent a car and he recommended Gerry with [-] because Gerry picked us up at The Petra House on our last day and drove us to our next stop in Kilkenny. He took all the back roads and gave our family a wonderful tour of the Irish countryside.

nice place but along busy road in a very busy city suburb.good rooms and breakfast and chatty owners.
