Stayed in this hotel back in January . My husband had booked this hotel for my Birthday as a special treat they had no family rooms available in the hotel so they suggested we stayed in one of there apartment which they advised us was connected to the hotel what a disaster the apartment is not connected to hotel and we had to cross two busy roads in galway to get to the hotel each morning for breakfast with two young children bear in mind this was January and the weather was bad we has to put coats on in order to go for breakfast it is about 5minutes walk from hotel. This apartment is in a ordinary apartment complex in Galway city this we were not told of the receptionist on booking had promised us it was connected to the hotel and led us beleived deliberately apartment was on the same grounds as hotel .this did not give us any experience of the hotel at all even the tioletries were also sub - standard we also did,nt have he security at night of the hotel and had ahobo sleeping outside the apartment complex
Having a drink at night was a disaster as the kids had to be out of the bar by 7pm which meant we had to go back to our apartment at this time
Shame on this Hotel we were a young family wanting to spend and celebrate a special birthday in Galway wih our children and this Hotel ruined this for us .
When we did complain the reception was very arrogant and very dismissive of us saying the hotel was completely booked they had all the right word,s but done nothing to assist us .
This hotel is good for sunday afternoon bar lunches the decor is a throw back to the seventies and very dated .
Good hotel for inexperienced American tourist ,not for families with young children
Hated this hotel and the fast one they pulled on us they even had a cheek to charge us more for the apartment . Shame on the management of this hotel . I will never reccommend this hotel and a much better option in Galway city is the Raddisson Hotel.

Tripadvisor reviews were the basis for chosing this hotel, plus extra info from kindly fellow tripadvisor contributor! It was important to know if the hotel was central and could adequately accommodate infants, since this was our first trip away with our 3 month old son. The hotel could not have done more for us.....great big room, with plenty of room for travel cot; they cleared the minibar for us to use as fridge for bottles and food.

Location of the hotel was excellent - right off Eyre Square and 2 mins from the train/bus station.

We ate in the restaurant for breakfast every morning, and for dinner 1 evening. SErvice for breakfast was a bit slow - it was very busy, and as we were in a rush on the last morning it was a bit of a problem. Dinner in the evening was good - great atmosphere, and no problem to bring baby in buggy. Other restaurants around Galway were funny about bringing a baby in for dinner due to licensing laws - but we did find one that was great in accommodating us (our baby sleeps solidly in the evening so would never wake at dinner, lucky for us and other diners!!!).

While we were there one of the lifts was out of order which made getting up to/down from the room a bit awkward at times, but was manageable.

If we were returning to Galway, we would consider this hotel again - but visited Radisson while we were there and it seemed more appropriate for younger children etc so might give that a go instead.

Wow! What a great hotel. I booked a room online for a week of golf and fun in Galway. I was not dissappointed. The hotel is right around the corner from the train station and close to everything.

The staff is friendly and fun. The room was clean and well appointed. I was also impressed with how quiet my room was. I never heard any noise from staff or other guests and I am usually pretty sensitive to stuff like that.

Based solely on positive Tripadvisor.com reviews we booked into the Park House Hotel in Galway, and it fulfilled all our expectations. Although the hotel quoted 205 Euros for a double room, we got one for £85 through Expedia, which we thought was excellent value. The hotel is centrally located in the vibrant city of Galway but has its own car park. The staff were consistently friendly and helpful, and everyone seemed to be making an effort to make guests comfortable. The room was well above standard with a huge bed (bed linen changed daily) and spotless (even if the only view was a back yard). Award-winning restaurant.. Thank you, Tripadvisor, for such a sound recommendation.

I traveled with 12 family members to the Park House Hotel. We really enjoyed our stay here. It was right in town close to pubs, restaurants and shopping. The only problem we had was the wake up call never happened. It's an automated system, and it didn't confirm the wake-up call, so it was impossible to tell whether or not it worked (it didn't for 6 of us). The staff was average in the restaurant and front desk, but the other staff was very helpful and went above and beyond. The room, although not large was clean and had all the amenities of a 4 star (no robes but had a pants press - nice touch). All in all, pretty good with a great location.
