I live in London, but my family are from Galway, so I knew of the Park House Hotel before I stayed there with my wife, on the first night of our Honeymoon before we headed off to France. However I did not know know how good our brief stay there would be.
There are a few hotels in Galway which are of a fairly high standard, however few match the attentive service we received at the Park House.
The room was immaculate (I think newly decorated), the restaurant was superb (and surprisingly good value for money - good size portions!)
Location wise it is perfect, it is just on the edge of Eyre Square, (which is the main square in Galway), which means it is no more than two minutes from the renowned nightlife, but is just far enough away to avoid the noise.
We accidently left my wife's Wedding Tiara in the room safe, and only realised the next day whilst sitting in the queue for a ferry to France from Dover! The duty manager explained that he couldn't check the room until the following day as it was occupied, however he assured me that if it did turn up, he would call me on my return to the UK.
We returned two weeks later to discover that the head cleaner had found the Tiara the previous morning and stored it in the hotel safe until she could speak with the duty manager, and they were waiting for us to advise what to do with it!
The Tiara itself was of intrinsic value, however it looked and felt very valuable - we were pleasantly surprised to get it back!
We will definitely stay there again.
We are back in Galway later this year for the Oyster Festival and will probably stay with family, however I think we will defintely find time to have dinner in the restaurant.

I stayed for five nights last month and found both the accommodation and service to be of a very high standard. The staff were exceptional, the night porter was most interested to hear if I'd enjoyed the evening and what the music was like!
I did not eat in the restaurant as they appeared to have very little to offer a vegetarian (!) but the breakfast buffet had a good choice available.
Bottled water, toiletries and morning and evening newspapers were included and the room had a useful safe.
The location, just off Eyre Square, is ideal for both the rail and bus stations and just a short walk from the main shopping and entertainment district. Forget Dublin, if you want to hear real traditional Irish music you have to go to Galway!!!
I would certainly stay at the Park House again.

We stayed here for three nights 18/19/20th June with two 5 course dinners included.

The standard (and quantity) of food, genuine professionalism of staff, quality of decor, pristine cleanliness and attention to small details make this hotel stand out from others. This establishment is a credit to its management.

Filtering and ultra violet treatment of ALL water throughout the hotel means there are no worries about the (temporary)problems Galway is having with its municipal water supply. We used tap water with no issues.

Morning and afternoon newspapers, free internet access, valet parking and a porter who brought you a free 'surprise' coffee when he saw you were flagging are touches that make for a good feeling.

A great central location adds to the experience.

There were a variety of discerning tourists there, and everyone we spoke to were unanimous in their praise for the place.

We will definitely go back.

My wife and I spent the final four nights of our honeymoon in Ireland at the Park House Hotel in Galway. I can't speak highly enough of the quality of the accomodations, or the professionalism of the staff. At check-in, the porter actually seemed disappointed that we did not require help getting our luggage to our room! Breakfast was superb every morning, with a fantastic selection of fresh croissants, scones, cereal, and juice, in addition to your choice of tea or coffee, and a selection off the main breakfast menu (the full Irish breakfast was particularly good). Even when we had to leave before breakfast our last day to catch an early flight out of Shannon, the front desk attendant kindly offered to make tea or coffee for us at checkout if we had a few moments to spare. On the next to last night of our stay, we ate at the hotel's Park Restaurant. The food, wine list, and service were all excellent. If you are looking for a great way to end your stay in the West of Ireland, and especially if you can find a great deal through a service like hotels.com, the Park House Hotel is the place to stay while visiting Galway.
