My wife and I recently spent three nights at the Park House Hotel. We had the most relaxing holiday and found absolutely nothing to complain about. The hotel was spotlessly clean throughout, the meals excellent and the staff were the most pleasant we've ever encountered; nothing was too much trouble for them which is sadly lacking in most city hotels we have previously stayed in. It's location just off Eyre Square is ideal being close to the shops and bars.
Both a complimentary morning and evening newspaper were left each day and late afternoon a maid would knock and ask if we needed any more tea, coffee or biscuits. My wife was especially pleased with the complimentary Molton Brown toiletries, a really nice touch.
We have stayed in Galway before at Jury's Inn but while we found there perfectly acceptable we would recommend Park House as the finest hotel in Galway, indeed the best in Ireland.
We love this part of the world and look forward to our next visit to the Park House.

My wife and I stayed at the Park House Hotel, Forster Street, Galway Ireland for three nights in April 2007. This hotel is a real gem, and as we booked through an Internet discounter we paid considerably less than the standard rate.

My wife, knowing how little we had been charged for the room, was sure that we had wandered into the wrong hotel when she saw the well-appointed reception area in the lobby.

Check-in and checkout was quick and efficient. The parking lot attendant/bellman parked our rented car and took care of our luggage and then promptly disappeared instead of hanging around for a tip. The room was spotless. The ensuite bathroom was sparkling and well supplied with toiletries. A newspaper appeared at the door each evening and again in the morning. Someone from housekeeping knocked on the door each evening to enquire as to whether or not the in-room tea/coffee supplies needed to be topped-up.

A full Irish Breakfast was served in a very elegant dining room.

The only drawback was that our room had no view to speak of. We faced directly onto the back wall of another building and the parking garage, which was probably why the room was discounted in the first place. But then who goes to Ireland and then sits looking out a hotel room window? Not us.

I would have no qualms about recommending the Park House Hotel and their staff to anyone.

This is a great traditional hotel. We arrived before noon and had no problem checking into a beautiful room on the second floor looking onto a courtyard. The furniture was impressive with a very comfortable couch and chairs, and a great king-sized bed. The room and bathroom were spotless. The bathroom was large, lots of thick towels and a heated towel rack.

Breakfast was in the main dining room/restaurant. The food was excellent (though on the day we arrived near the end, the pastry/roll/bread selection had gotten sparse). The location is great. Just off Eyre Square, round the corner from the tourist office. You can easily walk to everything in Galway that you might want to see, and to a number of excellent restaurants. If we had stayed one more night we would have tried the hotel restaurant which has gotten very good reviews. The staff were efficient and helpful. The porters were quick to help with luggage and car parking. We even got a morning and an evening newspaper. This is a deservedly popular hotel - it was full. But it was a bargain and you can frequently find low cost offers on any number of the travel sites. I would absolutely stay here again.

The Park House Hotel lived up to the expectations I had after reading
previous reviews. We arrived mid morning, before check-in, but the hotel allowed us to park our car (a real savings, as parking in Galway is expensive) ahead of check-in. When we came back later in the day to get settled in, the staff was very accomodating and helpful. The decor thoughout the hotel was very nice. Our room was immaculate! There was a water problem throughout the county when we were there, and the hotel explained their accomodations for guests, which included supplying bottled water for teeth brushing etc.. The location of this hotel is fantastic for exploring the city, as you are never very far. Security was a plus! The doors were locked when we returned in the night, however, it was no problem being let in! It was nice to see the security! Breakfast was included in our room rate and it was wonderful! A wide choice of options! This hotel was at the top of a list from a visit around Ireland!

We stayed four nights in March and, aside from not being able to drink the tap water because of the Galway water crisis, it was a perfect spot. The room was small but very comfortable and quiet, Staff were very helpful, from front desk to porter who parked the car in the cramped parking lot (a real plus in downtown Galway). It's just off Eyre Square, so it's quiet but close to everything. We used it as a base to explore the surrounding countryside. Breakfast was almost too good - we staggered out each morning after indulging ourselves shamelessly. We didn't eat in the restaurant, but we did eat in the bar, where we had one of our best meals in two weeks.
