We were very impressed with the Park House Hotel - the decor and facilities were excellent. Our room, a standard room (which they call "superior") was nicely decorated and a good size, with large double bed, a sofa, table and chairs. Also had a mini-bar and tea/coffee making facilities. The bathroom was lovely too, with bath and a very good shower. Only minus - I don't like these wall-mounted hairdriers that a lot of hotels have (the hose type).
To open the windows, you had to reach quite high up to the window catches, and they had even thought to put a step-stool in the wardrobe.
The car park at the rear of the hotel is quite small, but we were lucky - someone drove out just as we arrived. However there is a multi-storey car park just next to it if you cannot find a place in the hotel park.
The position of the hotel is excellent - easy to walk to all the pubs, shops and restaurants - and there are some excellent restaurants in Galway. I'm afraid we didn't get to try the hotel restaurant for dinner, but we thought the breakfast was very good.
Very good value for money, especially after Dublin, where everything seemed very expensive.
