Having interrogated a large number of website reviews, we decided to stay at the Park House Hotel, and arrived for a 3-night stay on 1st October 2006. What can I say...in our experience, our stay really was a faultless one - and that's the first time I've ever said that!
It's location is perfect in that it sits right on Eyre Square, the city's heart, the gateway to shopping, and to travel outside of the city.
We booked the basic room (known as a Superior), and were amazed at both the size of the room ,and the quality. The staff couldn't do enough for us, and made our stay with our 12-week old baby, an absolute joy. The Park House Restaurant boasts consecutive culinary awards since 1999, and the quality of the food was just superb for the 2 nights that we attended. On the 3rd night, we ate at the second restaurant in the hotel, the Blue Room, and although a more casual and relaxed style, it also boasts food of a very high quality. I'm struggling to find anything negative about this hotel, and the basic price even includes breakfast & parking! On day 2, we headed out to Connemara (Clifden) and witnessed some of the most beautiful countryside you'll EVER see. 5 stars *****
