We truly felt pampered and welcomed at this hotel. Only complaint is that we had three children traveling with us (one in a baby cot) and this was the only hotel that we had to get two rooms because they said their double room didn't have enough room for the cot. But looking at a travelers photo on this site of a room with two beds, it looks like there is room for a baby cot.

Overall though I have to say I felt welcomed from the moment the concierge approached me to park our car. The hotel attendants were all very nice striking up friendly conversation, asking about our day and what we went to see and extremely accomodating in helping us find great places to eat in Galway and even set up our reservations to dine at a castle for us. We have stayed in hundreds of places and resorts and I would recommend this convenient and lovely hotel to everyone. There is even a great pub across the street with musicians playing and even a couple of Irish dancers.

Enjoy!

  • Liked — The staffs help/great restaurant, good food and service
  • Disliked — Bar staff wasn't that great but theres a good pub across the street

This hotel is a real gem! The location is great and the staff is fantastic. It is extremely clean and well maintained. The food is excellent in their "blue room". I would highly recommend the park house!

The Park House Hotel scores 5 out of 5 in every way. The sevice is excellent; we recieved a smile and greeting from every staff member and felt very welcome any time of day. The bar and dining areas are beautifully decorated and have a very luxurious feel. The restaurant food was very good, and the seafood chowder is divine! I had a fabuloous stay in this hotel and would recommend it to anyone.

We spent a week there in July 2006 and even though Galway was crammed with people, the hotel was always a calm and cosy oasis - and we hardly had one of the more expensive rooms. Desk staff is relentlessly friendly and helpful. Room had a nice reading area with a small sofa, a chair, and good enough reading lights. Newspapers appeared at our door twice a day, and there was turndown service nightly complete with chocolates on the pillow. We did hear one family requesting a room change because their room (on the street side) was noisy but I would guess this would be true in any downtown-Eyre Square hotel. (Our room on the courtyard side was blissfully quiet). Had one dinner in the hotel restaurant which was surprisingly excellent (lamb). Food in the bar is, well, bar food. The location truly can't be beat: half a block from the train and bus stations, next door to the Galway tourist office (for booking tours) and getting on tour buses, right off Eyre Square for shopping and restaurants. Nice to have breakfast on white tableclothed tables - very elegant. Would definitely stay there again.
