Stayed in Park House Hotel for 2 nights in June 2008 on business. To start with the good, the staff were very nice and helpful. The location of the hotel couldn't be better - 1 min from the train and bus stations and Eyre Square and yet it was really quiet and felt very comfortable for a lone female guest. The breakfast was efficiently served and pretty good. And the room was HUGE - it could have accommodated a family of 4.

The hotel also seems to be undergoing a bit of a refurb - there was a smell of paint everywhere when I was there although none of the noise or bother you might associate with this. Everywhere felt nice and clean too.

On the downside it was warm. Really warm. Really really warm. With the aircon on full and the windown open (it was cool outside) it was just about bearable. but I wouldn't consider staying here in high summer. The free internet was good except for the fact that it was up and down all the time, very irritating when you're trying to get through your email at the end of a long day.

I'd definitely recommend it in winter or for leisure travellers though.

“Has Gone Downhill”

Stayed in Park House with my partner last month. Had stayed a few times before for various occasions in Galway. We were surprised how the hotel had gone down. First we were greeted by a receptionist who seemed preoccupied and did nt want to be there. We were given our keys and sent to our room which when we got there was still not cleaned. We returned to the receptionist who when we told her it was not cleaned said oh is it not. When we finally got to our room we were surprised with the overall presentation. The duvet cover had a hole on it and the room looked like it had nt being dusted. The bathroom tiles had hairs all over them, the mirror was not clean and the shower curtain had a dirty stain on it. Only for breakfast and our fab dinner that night our stay would have being a big disappointment.

Stayed 2 nights in the Park House Hotel last weekend. This is a beautiful old fashioned hotel with excellent staff and great hospitality.

From the moment you check in you are welcomed by a very relaxed atmosphere. The hotel is located beside the train/bus station and is in the heart of the Galway city. The rooms are beautiful and good size especially the treble rooms which are huge.

Service is king at this hotel and everyone makes you feel at home. Its the little touches that make this a very enjoyable experience from the free morning & evening newspapers to the comprehensive breakfast to the residents bar which was quite lively each night.

If your looking for a good quality hotel in Galway, close to everything with a huge helping of irish hospitality, this is the hotel to go to!

Booked due to TripAdvisor reviews. Very good indeed on a one night stay in May 08.

Bad points first - bathroom and air con ageing.

Good points - Service universally friendly and professional. Secure car parking, free WiFi in room, centrally located, good food.

Overall highly recommended. Would use again.

I stayed at Park House Hotel for three nights in May 2008 but I could have done just one night. Rooms are very small and front desk was idoits!! I asked how to get to Aran islands and they did not know and told me to come back later that day when a different person was working???? Breakfast was amazing and the service was execellant!
