“Good hotel, great location and food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 20, 2013

We stayed at the Park House for two nights on a trip around Ireland. Overall it was good stay. It's in a great location, the service is great - loved how the porter came out to look after the car and sort out parking for us when there were no spaces in the car park. The rooms are ok, perfectly clean and comfortable if a bit dated. The food was a highlight. We had a lovely breakfast and ate in the bar one evening, which was really good. Good food, nice atmosphere and good service.

Free upgrade on arrival, fantastic rooms, good lively bar, didn't eat in restaurant but the breakfast was pretty good. Checkout very efficient and good value for money. Strongly recommend this hotel in all ways.

Stayed three nights and found this one of the best hotels we have stayed at in the last few years. The decor is more traditional than modern but provides a comfortable environment. Rooms extremely clean. The breakfast was of excellent quality and the brown bread the best I have ever had. The food is well presented and well priced in the bar. Staff top notch. Can't be beat for location and price. Highly recommend.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2013

I traveled to Ireland last fall. For my stay in Galway I decided to break the budget a bit and stay at the Park House Hotel. The first floor of the hotel fits in with what you would imagine one of the nicer hotels in Galway to look like. The lobby was very elegant and formal, as were the dining areas and the bar. The hotel is right in the middle of Galway and provided an easy walk to many restaurants and pubs in the area.

The room itself didn't keep up with the quality of the 1st floor. The room was cramped, one of the smaller ones I experienced in my stays in Ireland. The decor was dated, as was the bathroom. (And watch out for those bathroom tiles; I almost slipped twice they were so smooth.) And for the price I paid, I expected the amenities like the TV and closets to be a litle more substantial.

So the stay itself was fine, but really pricey for what you money got you. I would look at staying at a lower priced hotel next time in Galway.

We have just returned from a weekend staying at this excellent hotel.I cannot recommend it highly enough, the reception lounge and bar areas are all light coloured timber and extremely comfortable. The restaurant and rooms are decorated/furnished with dark timber and look a little dated, however the rooms are comfortable, spacious, extremely clean and an oasis of peace and quiet, you would never know you were bang in the centre of the cities action. The crowing glory of the hotel are the staff, they are everything hotel staff should be,efficient, friendly, good humoured, good natured and not in your face.
While you are there eat from the A la Carte menu in the restaurant at least once,it is extremely good value, unpretentious and exceedingly good.Again the staff here were excellent keeping on top of everything while seeming casual about it.
If business fades the management could run training courses for hotels worldwide as they truly understand the concepts of hospitality and service in an industry that is supposed to be all about those concepts.

The Location of the Hotel is just beside Eyre Square, so central, with parking available at the hotel.
All the staff in the Hotel were extremely polite and helpful, making our stay very comfortable.
The hotel lobby is very comfy with large chairs to relax in ,with a lovely bar where you can enjoy a relaxing drink.
We stayed with our teenage sons , which have a big appetite, after eating breakfast and dinner at the hotel , they were pleasently satisfied, complementing the hotel,on the variety and quality food available. I am coeliac and they had gluten free bread available along with sauces for my dishes.
We stayed in a suite on the 4th floor, very spacious, clean and having sky sports available on the tv,was a real winner for my boys.It is a very comfortable hotel , making our stay very memorable.
This Hotel is worth its 4stars and would recommend staying there, you won't be disappointed.

This hotel is a relaxing oasis in a bustling city. The hotel is in a great central location just of Eyre Square, it is real traditional comfort, lots of comfortable chairs in a beautiful spacious lobby. Our room was very large with a double and single bed and was spotlessly clean. We ate in the restaurant on the first night of our stay...the food was excellent and the service was without fault. I really could not recommend this hotel highly enough.
