We just returned from a week in Ireland, three days (and two nights) of which were spent in Galway. We stayed at the Park House, and could not have been more pleased with our selection.

We're a big family -- both parents, and four kids aged 10-22. So we booked two rooms -- a junior suite and a regular double room. Our room (the suite) was simply enormous. Plenty of room for two parents and two kids. It was nicely appointed, quiet, and extremely comfortable. The adjoining room was likewise very pleasant.

The staff could not have been nicer. They went out of their way to answer our questions and make sure our needs were met. We wanted to have lobster while we were in Galway, and they suggested several restaurants where they thought we might have luck. They even contacted the chef in the hotel's restaurant, who volunteered to save us two for our dinner later that evening. (We took him up on his offer and had a superior dinner in the hotel.)

We highly recommend this hotel, either for a business traveler or a family on vacation. We have nothing but good things to say, and if we return to Galway (and I'm hoping we do) we know where we will stay.

If you are looking for an excellent Irish hotel that gives you great value for your money, in a perfect location, this is it. The hotel's up-scalerestaurant is outstanding by any standard, as was the less expensive bar/restaurant. The room was spotless, well decorated, furnished and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and always helpful.

You are one block from the train and bus station; the city center; and within about 15 minutes walking distance of anything and everything you would like to see in Galway, and yet the hotel is as quiet as can be.

Don't miss McDonagh's Fish House while you are in the city. Best fish and chips I have ever had. Stay away from Pucans Bar, across the street from the hotel. They advertise traditional Irish music etc. (it is a tourist trap).

Stayed one night, mid-October. Galway is busy town, if you are arriving from the south or east you need to take a left turn before the Hotel to use their car park and avoid a lengthy one way system. Hotel is very nicely furnished in the public areas. Staff were just so friendly and helpful. Our room was a nice size, clean and furnished to a high standard. There was broadband available at a price in the room but much cheaper option was the Internet cafe almost next door. This Hotel is virtually in the centre of Galway with lots of eating and drinking options. The Harbour area is about 15 mins walk away. We had a bar meal in the evening which was good in quality and value for money and the breakfast in the morning included in our deal was surberb, full Irish!
Overall, rates very highly with us.

Loved this Hotel. An oasis of peace in Galway City. The room was beautifully furnished and the standard of housekeeping throughout the Hotel very high, the carpets are very plush and we heard no noise from other guests.Breakfast is cooked to order, with a good choice including fresh fish.Plenty of seating areas downstairs for relaxing. The menu for the Restaurant and Bar were extensive and the staff attentive. Should we ever return to this City would not consider staying anywhere else.
