The location can't be more central. Pubs and shopping are few meters away.

Parking is partially compensated by the hotel and is just 5 mins walking. There is an elevator just in case you travel with luggage. Can be a bit noisy until midnight due to pubs' crowd and evens on the Eyre square.

Room is great, soundproof can be a bit better... Staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast is really good.

This hotel had very comfortable rooms (air conditioned!), and was in a great location right on Eyre Square. The Restaurant and Bar on the property was large and interesting. - They handled the large crowds during this Arts Festival weekend, without any issues. The staff was attentive and helpful, with all of our requests. - I would definitely stay here again, next time in Galway.

Room Tip: May want to get a room facing away from the square, as they would be quieter. - However, the noise f...

The hotel was average at best. It has nothing unique about it. Service was fine. My teens room had no phone. Once we got one, it never worked while we were there. Breakfast was good. Front desk staff was nice and helpful. Paid parking was a couple blocks away. The location was good on the green in the town. We mainly stayed in B&B's during our two weeks in Ireland. The B&B's blew this hotel away.

This hotel is in a great location. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and spacious. We had a triple room. I thought it would be very noisy at night but it wasn't that bad and didnt keep us awake. I stayed here with my aunt and daughter and all 3 age groups loved it. I'd go back here. Great for a mini break

Stayed in this hotel for my sisters hen party. The reception staff were extremely helpful, having no problem dealing with my chopping and changing of rooms coming up to our weekends stay. On arrival our rooms were ready earlier than expected, they rooms are fab, big and comfortable. We were informed on check in that there may be some noise at night due to the hotels location but this was not an issue at all. Bar staff were also excellent, very obliging and put up with our group til the early hours in the residents bar. Breakfast service was also great, breakfast is served until 12pm which afforded us all the leisure of having that extra stay in bed, also there was no phone call up to the rooms at any point telling us we had to vacate the rooms. Again reception obliged us again by offering to mind our bags if we wanted to take a walk around the city while waiting for buses. I would highly recommend this hotel, great location, excellent staff and great value for money.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that is away from the entrance to the hallways if you want total peace and quiet as t...

On a recent trip to Galway we returned from a day out in Connemara returning to our hotel on Eyre Square (not the Skeffington). We were so hungry so decided to go straight out for a meal and literally fell into this hotel, looked at the menu and ordered 2 x steak sandwiches. I am sorry to say that the quality of the food was not good. I felt it was like the scrapings from the pan put between two large pieces of white roll and served with not too delicious chips.

I was so disappointed with the mains that I ordered a dessert and choose banoffi pie. The base was hard, stale, and not up to standard.

All in all a poor choice.

Dear Mollie North East,

Thank you for taking the time to post a review on Trip advisor about your recent visit to The Skeff Bar & Kitchen. I was saddened to read that you did not have an enjoyable experience with us and I would like to assure you that this is not the norm within our business. I would appreciate if you could contact our restaurant manager Ashling Dudley at ashlingdudley@gmail.com so she could get some more information from you regarding your experience as to get to the root of the problem. We welcome all feedback within The Skeff Bar & Kitchen as we feel this is the only way we can improve our business which we constantly try to do.

My apologies again and I hope you will give us a try again in the future.

Warm wishes,
Lisa Nee
