We arrived at this hotel with no booking made..it was very busy in the city and couldn`t find a room anywhere, we were lucky the forster court had a cancellation of a twin room...we liked the hotel from the moment we walked in after a long day of walking and looking for a room it was great to be greeted by a gorgeous smile from the most friendliest gorgeous and helpful receptionist Suzannah, we were looking for a place to eat other than the hotel so she recommened Mc Swiggans pub which was a great choice the food there was lovely and it was only up the street.
The bedroom was nice and comfy,we only ate there for breakfast which was good and was also served until 12. Great Location right in the centre...not hard to find after a night out!! Reasonabe price,

We booked this hotel online and paid a deposit, only to arrive and find they had no record of us. The staff rectified the problem immediately! (Having a printout of the confirmation helped, but nonetheless, their attitudes and response to the problem were superb. Oftentimes our true colors show in the midst of difficulty and Forster's were true blue.) I'd seen where other TA posters had criticized some aspects of the hotel as a bit worn, and that was a little true in the hallway, but everything was clean and our rooms were nice. One of our rooms fronted the street and was a little noisy, but we knew that going in and weren't bothered by it. The hotel dealt with the bottled water situation appropriately. As others mention, the location is really quite good (close to Eyre Square and next door to a large tourist info office). We weren't able to get to the "name" restaurants we'd hoped for and took the staff's suggestion of a nearby Italian restaurant. It was excellent. Four thumbs up for Forsters from our party.

Perfect for a shopping/drinking weekend. Right in the middle of the city. Breakfast is served til 12 which is great when your struggling to get out of bed!! Staff are friendly. Rooms are nice. Good barfood aswell, huge portions.

We have just returned from 4 nights at this hotel, located in the centre of Galway.The hotel was of a good standard the rooms are very clean along with the public area's of the hotel.
The breafast in the Elwood's restraunt was good, but the best food (and guinness) was in the Morgan's bar where we were made to feel very welcome.
The only small fault with the hotel is that if you have a room at the front you might get woken up early by the streets being cleaned,
If you have a car this is parked in a 24hr car park behind the hotel,the hotel stamp your car park ticket and you get a very much reduced rate.
This worked very well.
We would recommed this hotel for those who want to visit Galway and the great country side.
