Hotel reception and staff helpful and pleasant. The hotel is what you may expect from a 3* city centre hotel, room acceptable although a little stale from remnants of past smokers. Generally clean. rooms on the street rather noisy throughout the night. Hotel breakfast good, plenty of pleasant food to eat and acceptable for a 3* hotel.Service fast and effecient, staff friendly. So what's my beef?Do not eat the evening meal. Not the worst meal I and my companion have ever eaten BUT pretty close to it. Frozen and pre-prepared food of poor quality left a lot to be desired. There was no evidence of quality to match the bold promises on the menu. The lady adjacent returned her meal and plates were returned with large quantities left on them. Following two appalling courses I plumped for ice-cream. The worst I have ever had. Did I complain? Well we had a good laugh at ourselves and bemoaned the quality of the food and took it like good Brits. I shall be writing a letter of complaint.
Overall as a City centre B&B the hotel represented good value for money in what is an over-priced tourist spot. If you like Irish bars and plenty of craic then Galway is for you and Forsters Court is well placed in the city close to rail and bus links but do not be tempted by the 19 Euro meals.
