“Great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2013

The price is fair and the location is perfect. It is just a couple of minutes walking from the city center. Also, you can park in the nearby car park called Q Park. I would recommend buying the overnight stay in advance online to save money. The staff was friendly and helped us with directions. The breakfast was included and it was a nice display of a continental breakfast. The hotel in general is nice and not too expensive.

Arrived in Galway after a long flight from Canada and stayed 2 nights.
Room wasnt ready yet but understandable as we were there early. They took care of our luggage as we took a stroll through town. Galway is a lovely vibrant city and this hotel is in an excellent location and reasonably priced. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was wonderful with many choices. My husband loved the smoked salmon. There is no 'set time' for breakfast so you can enjoy at your leasure. This hotel was perfect for the start of our Irish adventure and would recommend for sure.

Room Tip: we asked for a quiet room at the back and were accommodated without a problem

We stayed for 2 nights here and enjoyed our stay. The staff are very courteous and helpful. The hotel kitchen was being refurbished during our stay, so we were offered a continental breakfast or a room only deal instead. The rooms are okay, yes they do need new furnishings which are scratched and showing a tired look, but it was a clean room and spacious with a small balcony (302 on the 3rd floor). The bed was huge and great to sleep in. I think you need to weigh up other reviews and consider the price also in relation to other hotels in Galway. Overall, I think if you are looking for a good value price, this hotel has a lot going for it. If they update the furnishings and communal areas then they would be back in the top ratings! For a great Irish music pub nearby, go to the 'An Pucan', a little further along on the other side of the street.

We just returned from Ireland. Stayed 2 nights at this hotel. We had a room on thhe main street which was noisy during the day. We evidently had the only room with an airconditioning unit. The rooms are mediocre at best. The furniture was nicked and dented and there was no mirror in our room to use my curling iron since there are no electrical outlets in the bathroom. Initially I was very disappointed but the room was clean and centrally located. The staff was very friendly and went out of their way to accommodate us by getting an extention cord for the curling iron. Parking is across the street in a garage and you will have to get your ticket validated at the desk for the $10.00/day rate. The kitchen was being renovated so there was a cold breakfast but to their credit, they had ham slices, pepperoni, chesese along with cereals and fruit. If you don't mind a a very basic room with few amenities but centrally this hotel is for you, but don't expect more. Because of the friendly staff....I would stay here again...but only if I get that room with the AC unit :) .
I was surprised

Room Tip: Get a room in back...not facing the busy, noisy road since you need to open your windows for ventila...

We booked at the last minute and we had a very good stay. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and comfortable. It was a little on the small side. The full Irish Breakfast was included and it was very good.

Booked in Thursday , Reception area very shabby. Asked if we could have something to eat when we arrived after a long journey, we were told the dining room was closed for refurbishment, there was also only continental breakfast available as the kitchen was closed. We had booked B&B thinking that meant full Irish breakfast. We had a look at the room before checking in, it was awful nothing like the pictures on the web page. It was like a different hotel. They shouldn't be allowed to do this to people. Spent over an hour trying to get another hotel, could only get a room for one night as there is something on in Galway this weekend. We were told by other hotels that we weren't the first to come looking for a room from the Forester Court on Thursday. We booked through Booking.com, they should be taken off there site. We booked in July and the hotel should have rung us to let us know that the dining room was closed. Avoid at all cost if you want a nice break away.
