This hotel is great! First of all the price is very good, i had a problem with their websites booking facility. So i e-mailed them, and response was VERY quick ( i e-mailed some other hotel and still haven't hear from them! ) they gave me a discount for our stay (3 nights B&B and 1 evening meal for 253euros!)
The hotel is not hard to find, its on the right hand side of the Train station.
Check in was fast, got a room on the second floor. And i can see the construction site!! But the drilling and digging parts are over so it wasn't too bad. We got a 3 person room which was fantastic. The room size is smaller than the Waterford Marina hotel we stayed in before, but the room looks more welcoming. Bit disappointed that it doesn't have a mini-bar. They say that breakfast is served until 12 but its actually 12.30!!
Very near Shop st and not far from the coast, it is really worth a walk down there. We got a bus to Salthill( No. 1 bus) to see the aquarium, to be honest there's not much to see. We were lazy so we didn't join any tours, because most of them take up the whole day ( starts at 10 and back in the city at 5.15pm)
The dinner in the restaurant was very good. Breakfast is superb! First morning we got down about 11.45 so we thought breakfast was over, we got breakfast in the Corrib centre, and sorry that was disgusting. So we got breakfast the next morning in the hotel. Rashers, Hashbrowns, An egg, Sausages and you get some white and brown toast and tea/coffee too. It is really nice.
We used room service on our last night, we ordered steak and a steak bap, it took about 15-20 mins. Chips were a-bit overcooked, the rest were fine.
Wouldn't hesitate to go back again.
p.s. i know lots of people recommend Tamarid restaurant in Galway, but it is just like Lemongrass (personally i don't like their foods) , there's a good few italien cafe/restarants on Shop st. One has very good tiramisu and the other has excellent ice-cream and milkshakes.
