Myself and my boyfriend stayed in this hotel for 2 nights mid-week and got a fantastic bargain! The hotel is located just off Eyre Square and you would never know that it was in a city!! The receptionist that greeted us was lovely and courteous and checked us in very quickly. We were on a B&B rate so we did not have dinner there, but there are lots of lovely little restaurants in walking distance of the hotel. We had breakfast there on the two mornings and had lunch on one day. The portions are very generous and set us up for the day, which is saying something as my boyfriend has a shocking appeitite! The hotel is nice and quaint, and the room we had was gorgeous, the bathroom was a little small but the decor through out the hotel was lovely and clean.

The only thing that we didnt like was one waitress with blonde hair was unbelievable rude. There is a choice of breakfast and she immediatly assumed "2 full irish and 2 teas" and walked away, I had to call her back, ask her for what i wanted and had to call her again to say that we wanted coffee instead. I got a look that basically said "stop wasting my time and eat". She also served us the following day for lunch and it was nearly the same treatment, eat up and shut up kind of attitude.

  • Liked — Everything except the rude waitress
  • Disliked — The rude waitress

We needed overnight hotel accommodation in Galway and this hotel seemed to tick all the boxes. We were really suprised at what we got for the price. A clean cosy room, friendly staff, reasonably priced and delicious food and a good pub atmosphere. What more can anybody expect from a hotel. i would thoroughly recommend this hotel

This hotel is great! First of all the price is very good, i had a problem with their websites booking facility. So i e-mailed them, and response was VERY quick ( i e-mailed some other hotel and still haven't hear from them! ) they gave me a discount for our stay (3 nights B&B and 1 evening meal for 253euros!)
The hotel is not hard to find, its on the right hand side of the Train station.
Check in was fast, got a room on the second floor. And i can see the construction site!! But the drilling and digging parts are over so it wasn't too bad. We got a 3 person room which was fantastic. The room size is smaller than the Waterford Marina hotel we stayed in before, but the room looks more welcoming. Bit disappointed that it doesn't have a mini-bar. They say that breakfast is served until 12 but its actually 12.30!!
Very near Shop st and not far from the coast, it is really worth a walk down there. We got a bus to Salthill( No. 1 bus) to see the aquarium, to be honest there's not much to see. We were lazy so we didn't join any tours, because most of them take up the whole day ( starts at 10 and back in the city at 5.15pm)
The dinner in the restaurant was very good. Breakfast is superb! First morning we got down about 11.45 so we thought breakfast was over, we got breakfast in the Corrib centre, and sorry that was disgusting. So we got breakfast the next morning in the hotel. Rashers, Hashbrowns, An egg, Sausages and you get some white and brown toast and tea/coffee too. It is really nice.
We used room service on our last night, we ordered steak and a steak bap, it took about 15-20 mins. Chips were a-bit overcooked, the rest were fine.
Wouldn't hesitate to go back again.

p.s. i know lots of people recommend Tamarid restaurant in Galway, but it is just like Lemongrass (personally i don't like their foods) , there's a good few italien cafe/restarants on Shop st. One has very good tiramisu and the other has excellent ice-cream and milkshakes.

  • Liked — Price was great for city centre hotel, decent room size
  • Disliked — Construction site noise, No mini-bar, the guy in the bar for breakfast wasn't too nice on our last day

My wife and I stayed at the Forster Court on Valentines night. The check in was swift and friendly and also provided us with directions for a restaurant we wished to visit. The hotel is in an ideal location within close proximity to to the centre of Galway and a vast array of pubs and restaurants. The rooms are clean and breakfast was very nice, all in all a decent hotel at a decent price.
