“Amazing hospitality...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 13, 2013

We were lost...many time in our journey through Ireland. We were looking for our B&B but were never sent a confirmation email when we booked the night before. I had remembered booking at the Ard Mhurire, but I was wrong. After being lost for hours we finally stumbled on the Ard Mhurie...but since we were not booked there he was out. The owner came back to the B&B cutting short a night out when we called. He let us use his phone and internet which allowed us to find where we had booked (NOT NEARLY AS FRIENDLY AS AT THE ARD MHURIE). Long story short, I would have stayed here if I had a choice. The owner was friendly and went out of his way to help people who did not even book at his establishment. When I come back to Ireland I will absolutely stay here...I suggest you do as well.

Room Tip: Book here...the people running the inn are lovely.

We stayed in this B&B for one night and were very pleased with it overall. We were met with a warm welcome despite having arrived well after the check-in hours at 9pm. The room was spacious and impeccably clean, and the breakfast selection was probably the best I've seen in an Irish B&B. This place might not be the best option for those without their own transport, as it is a bit out of town, but otherwise it's great value for money. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet and cozy place to stay in Galway.

The owner of the place was great! He was super friendly and made sure we were taken care of from food to transportation to tours. The whole B&B looks like it was recently updated. The rooms were very nice and comfortable. Overall this was a wonderful home away from home while visiting the great city of Galway.

We didn't get to stay in this B&B as at 22.03 the night before we were supposed to arrive at the B&B to attend a wedding the owner texted us to advise that he would be unable to have us stay as they were closed due to illness. I understand that people do get sick and he did offer to sort us out with another B&B the next morning....
As a result we had to contact the other B&B ourselves that night and ended up being further away from the wedding hotel than expected! Very dissapointed!

This was our second trip to Galway. Ard Mhuire is located a short distance from the City Center, enough to be quiet and restful but close enough for a quick bus or taxi ride. Padraig was a great host, very accommodating with great insights on the area, and the room was beautifully furnished and spacious. Thanks Padraig.

I had booked room #7 and when we arrived, the owner said he had given it to someone else staying more nights than us. So the first impression is a bad impression: you cannot trust the owner's emails. Then he gave us a big family room, saying we would be happy because it was much bigger than the room we had booked. The room was big, but ice-cold and the bigger the room, the more difficult to heat. When we arrived (4.30 pm), the heating was off, so we used the dusty dirty electric radiator provided in order to try and heat it a little bit. We finally went out for dinner and when we came back, the heating was on and it stayed on overnight (which was not useful for us because we sleep with open windows, so we'd rather be warm and comfortable when we arrived tired than at night) Breakfast was ok.

This bed & breakfast is the nicest I have stayed in! It is impeccably clean, has beautiful white vintage furniture in the room and has the most comfortable bed. The breakfast is fantastic, they offer a full Irish breakfast of bacon, eggs, tomatoes, sausages etc. It is located about a 5 min drive out of town so if you don't have a car it is a little difficult but there is a bus stop right outside. The host Patrick is the nicest, most obliging person and he even drove us into town when we needed to go. I would definitely stay here again!!
