I stayed here with my girllfriend and our overall experience couldn't be better. As soon as we arrived we were kindly welcomed by the manager, who even had time to give us some good tips about the places we shoudl visit. We only stayed for one night and for the their affordable price and great service it's really good value. Spot on!

Myself and my husband stayed for 2 nights and could not fault any of the services the hotel offered. Staff and manager were very professional, helpful and friendly. The rooms are very clean, and comfortable. It is very reasonable priced which left us more money for shopping, well worth a visit. Will def be back in the new year.

Stayed here twice with groups of friends. Once for New Years, once for Halloween.

Can't beat it for value and location. Staff are great. About €7 in a taxi for Eyre Square!

Myself and my family had the pleasure of staying here over the weekend. A great place to stay! We had a car and we found it perfect for location but taxis numbers are readily available, the rooms are clean, warm and tidy, a safe area to walk at night if you want to.
Although there are offers flying around for the hotel, the breakfast is well worth paying for and the staff are really pleasant and happy to help at all hours.
We had the absolute honour of meeting the Manager Seamus who was, as were all the staff we met, fantastic. A brilliant sat nav if you have forgotten yours!
I have stayed in many a Travelodge before but this is by far the best, 4 star at least! We look forward to staying here on our next visit.

Anyone that stays in a Travelodge expecting the Ritz will be disappointed. You get what you pay for at the Ritz.. and you pay a lot less at The Travelodge. I have stayed in Travelodge Galway on more occasions than I care to remember and I have never had a bad experience. Indeed, the Manager Seamus dealt personally with me on a recent booking issue with a third party site. His manner and support on the issue were second to none. On all visits, the staff have been polite, friendly and welcoming - something many other hotels in Ireland could learn from.

While not in Galway city centre (per se) the hotel is only a 10-15 minute walk from Eyre Sq. - probably one of the closest non-City Centre hotels! The area is perfectly safe, as is the walk into town. There is a regular bus service and a taxi should cost around €5-6 for those not inclined to walk. Sure, the nearby roundabout is a little hostile for pedestrians - but this is hardly the hotels fault. Ireland has a tradition of putting pedestrians needs WAY down the pecking order!

The ritz this place isn't but if you've stayed in a Travelodge before you'll know that your getting a no frills experience for a no frills price. The staff were the real positives for me, friendly and accomodating, particular mention to Tomas for looking after us when we checked in on Friday and putting up with us until the wee small hours last night!

If you're arriving by car the location is good, granted it's a bit out of town but it's only really a 15-20 min walk into Eyre Square or less than €10 in a taxi.

In summary, if you're in a large group, looking to get somewhere cheap and cheerful with staff who are respectful of the fact you may be partaking in a tipple or two then this is the place for you. If you want to take a partner away for a romantic weekend, this probably isn't.

Non-drivers have to cross a very busy roundabout to reach the hotel. Petrol station/shop beside the hotel. As check-in is not until 3pm, perhaps the heater could be switched on at 2.30pm. I arrived during very bad weather, and the draught round the windows meant that it took 30 minutes for the room to heaten. That apart, everything was fine. Very helpful staff, who let me check-in at 2.40pm. I got the impression that the CafeBar was opened all day, but it's only opened until 10am. The receptionist offered to make me tea. Great full breakfast, and proper mugs in the bedroom! 5 minutes on the bus to city centre. I will definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: My room was on a busy road, but quiet.
