Just back from a weekend in Galway and must say we just loved the Days Hotel. The facilities were excellent and staff were very helpful and friendly. The food was excellent as we had dinner and breakfast, however the dinner menu was somewhat limited. However it was so tastly it compensated for the lack of choice (approx 5 main courses). The pool was beautiful - really clean and spacious and again staff in the leisure centre were really helpful. The bedroom was tastefully decorated and shampoo and shower gel was provided - see other review. We were allocated a room with a balcony which was a nice feature as the weather was quite hot. The hotel provided entertainment which was quite good as we arrived late on the first night and didnt bother going into town. As stated before coach parties seem to be attracted to the hotel - I guess I cannot blame them - they were really well catered for and it certainly did not put me off. The hotel is however about a 20 minute walk from Eyre Square, however the bus stop is just outside the hotel and taxi's are readily available. Hope this sets the record straight - the Days Hotel is certainly one of the best in Galway City if not the best that I have stayed in - this was about my fifth visit to the city.

Stayed for three nights at the hotel and I have to say I expected a lot more.

Parking was not the easiest. They have a large underground car park at the back, however I felt it did not look very secure. Even though the hotel would be responsible for the car under the Hotel Proprietors Act I did not think the car was safe their nor was I given the park is very isolated. There was nearly a fight over parking on the Monday evening. The check-in was prompt and efficient.

The room was dissappointing. The heat of the room struck me as soon as I entered. There was no air-conditioning available. The only way to cool the room down was to open the window. We had some sort of a machine outside which was rather noisy when in operation. Great when the window was closed but notable when the window was opened!!

The room was very clean. It came with normal tea facilities, hair dryer, etc however there was none of those items one would expect a hotel with 3 stars to have. No shampoo, shower gel, face cloths etc!

The room came with a double and single bed. I have to say it was one of the smallest double beds I have ever stayed on. I had to join the beds together!

We learned after heading to the restaurant/ bar to get something to east that you could not get food after 21:00. The bar stops serving food at 20:00. Room Service will not deliver after 21:00.

My girlfriend had breakfast on the Sunday and said that it was average but not great.

The swimming pool was OK. The layout is strange and appears to be designed with children in mind. It is not the warmest and is some way from the bedrooms. One has to take about 2-3 minute walk to the pool. We did not try the gym.

As noted by others the hotel appears to accommodate a lot of coach parties. While we where there there were a lot of these and they seem to literally take over the hotel.

Overall the hotel was average. It is a good location for traveling around the region, however I would suggest that there are probably better hotels with better services and cheaper in the area.

Just back from a 4 day break. The Hotel is very popular with coach parties which can make mealtimes very busy. However , the staff are so friendly and pleasant you could overlook this. All areas of the Hotel are kept clean and it definitely makes a good base to discover Galway.

Just returned from Galway and loved it.The hotel was lovely but I do agree with other review when they said check-in was a bit slow. The room was clean+bright with a very smart bathroom,we had hairdryer, ironing board+iron,TV,tea+coffee maker. We were in a triple room+ there was plenty of space. We did also notice some rooms had balconies,if we had known about them in advance we would have tried to get one as the weather was warm+sunny+it would have been great to be able to sit out.we found the room to be very warm, but comfortable. The pool was big and had a jacuzzi there was a steam room + sauna which were lovely but be aware that you have 2 wear a cap in the pool + they expect you to buy 1 but we hadn`t taken any money down with us so we were allowed to borrow ours + return them. There is a gym aswell but didn`t venture in! The hotel was bright clean and very relaxing.Had lunch in Solo which was lovely + well presented.Only had breakfast on last morning which was nice but as we had to leave early didn`t get to take full advantage. It cost 11.50 euro but as it is a buffet so you can eat as much as you like and it is open from 7.30-11am.The bar stays open late and there is some entertainment but we didn`t stay in to find out if it was any good.Hotel corridors can get a bit noisy at night though as voices seem to echo.We found that if you walked down the road a bit there was a bus stop + the bus took us into the main drag for 1.30 euro and a taxi back late was usually about 8 euro. All in, we really likes the Days Hotel.

Third time I've stayed in Galway...this was my third different hotel...and has been the best!!!
I was there with a group of 3 other fellas...got a Friday and Saturday night stay for £81.50 per person bed and breakfast!!!
Very impressed with our room...nicely decorated and had a balcony!!!
For breakfast there was a wide selection of grub...certainly filled me up for the day!!!
Didn't really spend too much time in the hotel bar...but it was certainly a lively place on both the Friday and Saturday nights!!! Very nice bar and sitting area!!!
Went to the leisure club once...has everything you'd expect!!! Only thing is the lockers have no lock on them...so don't be bring down your wallet or car keys!!!...unless you have a small padlock with you!!!
About a 20 minute walk to get to Eyre Square!!! Taxi-wise...cost us 9.50 Euro on Friday night, 6.00 Euro on Saturday afternoon and 6.50 Euro on Saturday night...we were probably had on the Friday night!!!
A note...the toilets flush weirdly!!! Looks as though they are slightly blocked when you push the flush button...but fear not it is just a characteristic of the sanitary ware I guess as my brother's room and another room flushed similarly!!!
