I was reading a few reviews on this hotel and I had to submitt a response. I have to say I stayed with my young family in August and this hotel is in a class of its own.

The staff are more friendly than I have seen elsewhere in a long time. Especially having young children this makes a huge difference. They were very busy but still made you feel the only guest there.

The food was all good too good quality and selection maybe they were having a bad day or it sound like they could have chosen wrong. It wasnt all bad.

The new decor is a huge improvement and classy certainly not dull.

Everyone has an opinion but dont let reviews put you off try it for yourself.

this hotel must be recomonded for its service class ,the staff are friendly but not in your face happy smiling alway egar to please , we found the food good value & you wouldn't find no better any place else. beds are so so comfortable cosy , i would recemond a suite costs a little extra but worth it . we will be back for another weekend .

Bit pushed for time so a quick review. The long review posted on 20 Nov says it all. We've just got back from a 3 day break. The room was great - just what you need. But the food was awful. Muzak at breakfast was some sort of funeral thing and made you feel like commiting suicide first thing in the morning. The food was the worst sort of bland mass produced uninspiring stoge. So what's the advice. We booked the three day package that included two dinners. DO NOT DO THIS. Go into Galway to eat - there's a good bus service. If desperate get something from the supermarket deli counter - it's opposite the hotel and better! A cab back from Galway is only 6 Euro so go there for dinner.

Well, with ever changing Ireland ,Days Hotels are unfortunately the future trend that will quantify accommodation on our Island.Sadly their room brochures classifies Ireland within a "United Kingdom" vision, which I found very distasteful and ignorant of our true geographical and political position.That said ,it is a personal view which others can add/take away from.

The Hotel is bright ,airy ,great interior space and plenty of parking.Approx 2.5 km from City centre but with shop across road and small shopping complex with cinema about 0.5 km down road.

The bedroom we had was of a good average 4 star size and standard, with extra pillows and well heated.
Room was very quiet, as we were well to rear of Hotel,although the hallway outside bedroom door is laid down with some sort of timber flooring that creeks a lot as people walk up and down.
However, we were amazed at size of bed itself.Having stayed in Days Inns in US we can tell you they would be laughted at over there.Bed was not even a standard Double bed but was a smaller 135cm X 190cm.Why in this day and age weren't Queen beds installed?Reception had no answer.Bathroom had only 1 complimentery shower cap, with soaps and shampoo available only from dispensers.NO flannel/face cloths available either,unforgivable for an American chain!Took things down a notch or two from a very good beginning.

Now the Dining experience is where Days really falls foul and explains our low rating.Breakfast is served from a Buffet in the most dreadful,dull,uninspiring reasturant we have ever sat in ,in a long time.Drab brown colours,fittings and strange red psycadilic partition windows.For the Buffet set up size ,what is on offer is very poor.The 3 juice types were good quality but where in Gods name are the main course choices that would even appear on worst B&B set up! All that was displayed was trays of rashers,fried eggs,beans,chips,tomato,puddings. Tea/coffee,toast,pastries,etc were also self-service.Such service is not acceptable for a 3 star Hotel and they would seriously want to get their American 'Muffin and Coffee' syndrome out of their system.

Dinner we had on 1st night was rushed and pushed on us at great speed.Starters were 2 x seafood cocktails with miserable shrimp portions filled in with mussels (a new variation on us).The vegetarian dish was good but the Duck was terrible.A few cuts of breast that were tough and rubbery with an obvious realisation that it was not cooked on premises ,but was a pre-pack job,heated up.Dessert was also forgetable.Staff,while always in a rush to do their job were friendly with main topic of conversation been as to what part of Mainland they were from -2 Polish and 1 Lithuanian.

A point of interest to most people would be that there is no Internet Access available in Lobby.You can pay €12.00 for 24hr usage in bedroom but while this would be ok for business types , for anyone doing quick check up of home e-mails,it is very expensive.Once again while we told Reception of this ,we would not expect this situation to change.

Leisure complex has not changed from Ryans period and is still as good as ever.Very enjoyable with good Sauna,steam room etc.
