“Busy Bank Holiday”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

Stayed last weekend. Hotel was very busy but staff coped admirably. Breakfast was good with lots of variety. Dinner was very good but avoid the spicy chicken wings - they were awful. Pool was packed with families but there's plenty of space so was still relaxing. Lots of signs of wear and tear and rooms are in need of refurbishment but everything is clean. All staff were excellent. Wifi was fine in bar and reception area but almost none existent in our second floor bedroom.

I've stayed in this hotel 3 or 4 times in the last few months. I only stay here as it's very close to the office I work in from time to time. The hotel is standard for a 3-star with descent facilities. However I will never be staying here again for a couple of reasons. One is the breakfast is just really really bad. They don't start breakfast until 7:30 on week days which means that there are large queues as soon as it opens. The breakfast food is just awful and very limited. You can't even get a descent juice. However the main reason I will need stay here again is that on my last stay I had an extremely allergenic reaction to bed bug bites. I stayed there for 2 nights and no where else before or after my stay and by the time I got home I was covered in bite marks. I contacted the hotel straight away, was informed they would investigate and call me back. Guess what no call back!

Room Tip: Don't stay in room 1070.

Overall a good hotel.

Very nice bar and food area. Close to City centre and nice big lobby.

Rooms overall very nice, but bath and showers very dated. Let the otherwise modren bathroom down.

The one thing that needs to be addressed is the room numbers.

The Hotel is a maze trying to find your room. Down corridors followed by more corridors and then lifts trying to work out directions.

Has to be a better system that currently in place.

Overall do a nice Hotel and worth a visit.

Stayed here for the weekend with our extended family group. The foyer and main bar were quite nice.

I found the bedrooms to be tired and in need of an upgrade, especially the bathrooms.

Hallway floors are creaky and the bedroom doors slam shut - which contributed to a poor night sleep from other residents/hens/stags banging their doors and talking loudly in the corridors in the very small hours. Another area which could be better handled, if it is used as a stag/hen hotel then the night staff should be more attentive and try to reduce the noise for the other residents.

Some of the staff are very friendly, however, some of the bar staff were less than helpful and i'd go as far as to say in need of some 'customer re-training'....you work in a hotel, with customers, put a smile on and be helpful!!!

We had a meal in the restaurant on the first nigh which was nice. Very busy place but the waiters kept up.

Breakfast time was frustrating with really large queues forming right out to the foyer as only one staff was 'greeting and seating' - there HAS to be a better system.

Not sure i'd come back here just as a couple, but as a family hotel it was as i expected it to be as a 3 star.

We stayed here on Sunday night with our one and half year old son, we had family room with balcony at back of hotel which was lovely and quiet. Room was very spacious and clean. Staff were all very friendly, we ate in the hotel in the bar food section, it was busy but we were given seats almost straight away and service was very fast, food was very tasty and well priced. The swimming pool is great also especially for the kids.we will defo be back to this hotel again. As it was my birthday the staff left a box of chocolates and a card in our room when checking in which was a lovely thought.

This is a 3 star hotel and I try and rate on the number of stars given the properties. It's your usual 3 star. Our room needed refurbishing but it seemed clean enough and that is important to me. Apparently some rooms have been redone but not all at this time. We did not have wash clothes in the room and the soap / shampoo containers were about empty but I'm sure we would have been accommodated with both had we asked. The front desk staff were great. The lobby area is really nice so I suppose I expected more from the room but it's OK. It's near the town center and the cab ride was only $7.00. Town center has interesting little stores / pubs with music / restaurants. Noise from the hallway can be a problem as the walls are thin. Wifi was good.

Came here for Sunday lunch with husband & young baby. Had to find our own highchair. Waited half hour to get menus after asking 2 waitresses. Tried to flag down another to order, she said she'd be back in a minute. After 10minutes waiting for someone to take our order we left, hungry.
