Stayed here for 2 nights midweek on a 2 night B&B with one dinner deal. Reception is nice and spacious, hotel itself is quite big, with about 4 blocks of rooms, so you can end up walking quite a way.

The location for visiting Galway was great, easy to find by car (used to be a Ryan Hotel so that's what my sat nav thought it was), lots of parking (free) and a do-able walk to the city centre. Got the details of bus timetable and city map from reception, but ended up walking into the city centre and back again. Had planned on getting a taxi back but needed to walk off the dinner we ate! There is a cinema just a few minutes walk away.

Breakfast and dinner were good, liked the food. The bar was quite spacious, but as there were some tour groups staying it could get quite busy.

The room and bathroom were nice, I like the style of decor, it looked like it was recently renovated. They did try to charge for the use of the safe (€1.50/day) which I also thought was a bit cheeky, but I just asked for it to be removed from the bill when we were checking out as they advised you could.

Stayed here while attending a business meeting in Galway in May 2008. The staff at reception are very friendly and helpful. I stayed in a room on the 4th floor which was quite a trek from the reception. The hotel is quite large and it takes a while to get around. The room itself was quite large also with internet access available through the tv set which was quite novel. It was €10 for 24 hours internet access which is quite steep. The bathroom was small incomparison to the room. The downstairs bar (again a trek away from my room) was nice offering a selection of sandwiches and light snacks, I didnt see a dinner menu. The breakfast is buffet style with fruits, cereals and fry's. The price is quite steep (€85) for a hotel which is located on the outskirts of Galway.

Our family (2 adults, 1 child) stayed at the Days Hotel in Galway on a Saturday night to meet up with some friends.

This hotel had a major renovation a few years ago and looks relatively modern in the public areas, allbeit the layout of some of the accomodation still looks rather old fashioned.

The room was OK, with the nice touch of a full-sized single bed (along with a double) for our daughter rather than the more usual put-you-up bed, but I was surprised to find the hotel charging to use the in-room safe (that's a new one for me).

The restaurant, however, was simply appalling. We had both dinner and breakfast there and I think I can safely say that I have never experienced such sub-standard catering in any hotel since the 1980s!

The menu lacked any originality, with every option covered in sickly sauces. My steak was completely over-cooked (which was almost irrelevant anyway as the meat was of such poor quality) and the staff didn't seem to know anything about the dishes offered (our waiter could speak little English).

Breakfast was little better, with the poor quality hot breakfast ingredients drying out nicely under heat lamps.

Drinks in the bar were very expensive (especially soft drinks), although there was at least free wireless internet connectivity.

The saving grace in the hotel was the leisure centre, with a really good sized swimming pool (although watch out for the expensive compulsory swimming caps).

The Hotel also has a Kid's club, although the hours of operation were very limited.

The room rates for this hotel in its slightly out-of-town location in a provincial city seem very poor value, even when you've taken into account the strong Euro.

By way of comparison, my wife, her mother and our daughter stayed in a family room in a luxury hotel right in the heart of Dublin (Grafton Street) for barely any more money earlier in the same week.

I can't say I would be hurrying back to this hotel again.

Stayed in Days hotel on 26th april for one night. Booked on hotel website and got good price for saturday night. Arrived at hotel and check-in was ok. All the staff behind desk seemed distracted and this also applied for checking out. Room was very nice clean spacious with double and single beds. Two small thing about room was that in room entertainment on tv wasnt working and in bathroom bath and floor were very slippery when they got wet.
Went down for drink in hotel bar that evening after a suiperb meal in Mc Swiggans in Galway city centre. The bar was packed but there were a few seats availble. But lasted five mins in bar after getting drinks because on music been played there by man. He was awful and far too loud for venue. Drank our drinks out in lobby.
Breakfast next morning was superb with vast range to choose from but warning if you go down too late you will be standing around for a long time because it gets very busy.
Overall a nice stay a hotel with a few very minor problems.

I stayed here for two nights in April and really enjoyed my stay. I have stayed in a couple of other hotels in Galway, but I think that this is my favourite one. It is particularly convenient if you are driving to Galway, as most of the other hotels either don't have parking or charge you for parking, whereas this hotel has plenty of parking. It is not very central, but if you are planning to be using your car a lot then it's perfect.

My room was very large and had everything I needed. It was a bit hot, but I called reception and somebody came within a few minutes to turn off the radiator and then the room was fine.

The staff were friendly and efficient. The bar serves food all day. I didn't use the pool, but it looks great!

There was a nice mix of guests, lots of families, some business people and even the Munster rugby team were staying there.

I definitely recommend this hotel, it's great value.
