I stayed here from the 1st - 4th January with my pre-teen children. We were very pleased with our stay We think it's a great hotel for families.
There were supervised activities arranged for children from 9am - 1pm and again from 5pm - 10.30pm including a trip to the cinema for the older children on one of the nights so parents get some childfree time to relax. The children were split into 3 - 6 year olds, 7 - 10 year old and 10 - 16 year olds and there were a number of playrooms to cater for the different age groups. We only saw the playroom for the older children and it was well equiped. My children didn't get to avail of these activities as we were visiting family in the area but managed to fit in a visit to the swimming pool and enjoyed it.
The bedroom was spacious and modern and we all thought the beds were very comfortable. Every morning our room was serviced while we were at breakfast.
We thought the breakfasts were great. There was plenty of everything available, no queues either. We had dinner one night and enjoyed it. There was entertainment in the bar at night but we didn't avail of it.
We found all the staff that we met very helpful. When we were checking out the receptionist offered warm water and de-icer as it had snowed overnight.
The only thing that irritated us but was not the hotels fault was other guests that were up until at least 1am or later in the bar with very young children and letting them run out in the foyer and corridors. Then when the parents were drunk they came back to their bedrooms letting their children run ahead screaming and shouting with the parents then shouting after them resulting in other guests been woken. We were woken on the first night and found it hard to get back to sleep. We've had similar happen in other hotels on occasion but it was drunk adults who woke us.
We will definitely stay here again
