As many reviews say, St. Jude's is beautiful. The rooms are spacious, very nicely decorated and comfortable. This was one of the best places we stayed in Ireland but our welcome was distant and continued so until we left. The location was fine as it was about a 20 minute walk to City Center. In fact, we stayed in Salthill on our second visit in a lesser quality B & B but with great hospitality.

It is worth being a little bit out of the city center for this gorgeous house. This is a true bed & breakfast, being a renovated mansion with HUGE, well-appointed rooms. The hosts were very friendly, the breakfast quite tasty (typical Irish fare) and the room the most comfortable of all we stayed at during our two week trip across Ireland (and ranked with the top rooms we've stayed in ever).

Galway can be a raucous town (we were there the weekend before the races), so it was actually better to be a little ways out for the peace and quiet. It was a good 15-20 minute walk into town, but that was fine for us. People with difficulty walking will have troubles though, although there is a bus nearby (we never used it). This was one of the times on our trip that we gave ourselves a half-day to lie around and do nothing, and it was nice to have such a comfortable room to do it in.

Highly recommend Monroe's for evening entertainment. This bar just before you enter the main city is a local favorite with few tourists. Great music that's a mix of traditional (not the songs you know by heart from frequenting American Irish bars) and modern Irish music. Definitely order pizza from next door (their is an internal entrance near the kitchen).

We stayed at St Judes in June 2006 as part of our first leg of honeymoon (2nd leg spent in Greece). The property is absolutely beautiful and the stay was great. The house is 5 mins walk to local bars/sea and a 5 min taxi ride to city centre. There are a good choice of places to eat in walking distance or take a quick cab ride into Galway City. The rooms are spacious and beautifully furnished and decorated. The breakfast was great. The overall experience was brilliant. We stayed one night, then visited family in other parts of Ireland and came back to St Judes for the last night as we flew back from Galway airport. I would definately stay again.
Galway is a vibrant city and I would love more time to explore.

Stayed in Galway here at St Judes. Beautiful little B+B that is close to the water, and a sort walk to the centre of town.

Friendly owners always made you feel at home and served a great breakfast the next day!!

Rooms were very clean (and large). Large sitting rooms also available.

Lots of parking available off street as well.

If I ever go back to Galway, I will still here again.
