After reading the previous review of 1/5/07, my travel buddy and I expected a large room. It was our last B & B on the trip and our expectations were high. We had room # 5, which could not have been the room described in the previous review. When we walked in to the room, it was so small that we were not sure where we were going to put our luggage. We soon figured it out. It was definately the smallest accomodation of our 11 day trip, including one hotel.
The city bus was outside the door. It took us to town for E1.30, which seemed so cheap. We were taken to Eyre Square in minutes. The food was excellent with a good variety. The fruit was especially good. The dining room and tables were lovely.
Ita, the hostess was a pleasant and matter of fact kind of person. I think she may be a bit shy. She met us upon arrival and was available for questions.
We took the Burran/Cliffs of Moher tour bus, which is highly recommended. During the tour, we took a one hour hike through the limestone and through the cow pasture and up the hill. It was a lovely view with a knowledgable guide. It was great to be outdoors and to enjoy the flowers and hillside view.
Went to Aran Islands on a perfect weather day. We couldn't figure out what you would do there for a full day, so we opted to go at noon and return at 5pm. It ended up to be only about 3 hours on the island which is not enough. The bike rides along the ocean road are beautiful. I bought my Aran sweater in Killarney for the same price, so you don't have to go to the island just for a sweater.
