I stayed three nights at Sleepzone Galway with my partner-- we booked a twin room, because it said online that they were the ones with en suites. The double and twin rooms are actually in some houses across the road from the main sleepzone building, and you only share a kitchen with two other rooms. It was all very clean (no hair in the showers), and the houses with the double/twin rooms also have their own washers/dryers, which was an added bonus for two of us with very dirty clothes. :)

The only bad thing was that you're not allowed to use kitchen appliances when someone is having a shower, because you risk blowing a fuse-- this is a bit annoying, if you are half-way through cooking breakfast, and someone wants a shower.

Not clean is all I can say. Reviews don't seem to be consistent, and unhelpful in booking stays here. I've had cleaner places in Ireland and Europe. Dirty bathrooms and showers. Clean should mean immaculate and no hairs. Also... slightly stained towels and sheets. What's the deal with this place, and the inconsistent reviews?

I have spent the night here on four different occasions and have found the staff friendly, plus I love the free wireless interenet. Facilities were clean and the location is right in the city center. Great place. It's a busy place because of their well-deserved reputation and I've met lots of other travelers through this place. If you really want a great hosteling experience, go visit the Sleepzone out in Connemara, which is set in a landscape straight out of Lord of the Rings. I liked it so much I stayed there for a month!!!

I am an American student but I have spent this semester studying at NUI Galway. Upon my arrival in Galway I was told that the apartment I had rented would not be ready for several days. A friend recommended I stay at Sleepzone and I could not be happier with the treatment I received there. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful which made my situation much easier to deal with. The rooms were clean and there was free internet access (something I haven't found at other hostels). Several students, who were supposed to be living in the same apartment building as me, spent between one day and several weeks in the hostel. The staff and managers knew each of us by name and were quite willing to help us out however they could. As a student in a foreign country I often had questions. Whether I needed directions or just advice, the staff was willing to help. Even now that I have moved into my apartment I still stop by to visit and chat with the friends I made there. I know the person who wrote the negative review of sleepzone and I feel that it was entirely unwarrented. I would, and have recommended Sleepzone hostel to anyone traveling to Galway.
